Thank you! Indeed theremin can sound like a human voice, with additional hardware like "talking machine" the similarity is even more prominent! I have actually recorded two videos with talking machine, where theremin sounds like vocal: Flower Duet and Waltz of the Flowers :)

Indeed it requires good cordination between hands that do two very different thing at the same time - control melody and volume. A good musical ear is also needed to grab the notes litetally out of thin air😅
