One of the better videos I have seen on the proper way to change pads. I've been doing my own brakes since I was 16 and I'm now 46. I've done a LOT of brakes. Thumbs up and thanks for the video.

You know what someone should do? An entire collection of shorts where you type in KZbin any car brakes and it says “14 mil for caliper bolts, 18 mil for bracket bolts.” Then it would take me 10 seconds to know which tools to bring to someone’s house.

Deno great video. I as you have done many of my own brake pad replacements over the years and you can always learn a new trick. You have yet again opened my eyes to a better way of doing something. I as like many unbolt the caliper and leave it dangling by the brake hose but not anymore. How stupid do I feel that it never crossed my mind to only take out the bottom bolt and pivot the caliper up and out of the way. Thanks for the much needed info. As always cant wait for the next video. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos.

+KSfixitman Not all calipers allow this but a lot do. Thanks for watching!

When breaking loose lug nuts, I like to start the breaker bar in a position where I turn it by pushing down instead of lifting up. Helps put less stress on my back. :)

Great video Dino! Small tip: if you open the bleed valve while pushing back those pistons you will flush any excess fluid. That way you will flush the closest fluid to the caliper that suffers the most. Once done, you could always complete the level if needed.

This. Forcing fluid back into the master cylinder in a reverse direction can be hard on the seals in the MC.

Thank you. I have the same car and never did my brakes myself. With your video and step by step instructions I got it done.

Good tip about the fluid leakage, that'd freak out a lot of people doing this for the first time!

Thanks for the video, I changed mine on my 2002 Santa Fe. I just used my jack that came with the car, bought brake pads for $20, now I know what is going on.

Although not necessary, it does seem to allow for easier caliper compression to remove the reservoir cap.

10:50 Yeah these pins have given me grief. Had a knocking suspension sound in the front end. Realised that the noise disappeared when the brakes were applied. Turned out to be these pins were rattling. A bit of grease on these pins fixed the noises. Nice vid

Good vid, I probably would have tried to take off the top caliper bolt. Glad u skipped the torch wrench bc I don't have one.. autozone will rent for free a brake tool. Just not sure about where to put the jack in front. I only have siccors jack.

I guess the oil misconception comes from brake disks. Those have a layer of oil on them for storage, that you must clean before using them. Anyways, can't wait for the next CB750 video!

the only things I would have done different is I always change the hardware and also I always lube the guide pins also always start your lug nuts by hand so you do not cross thread. lug nut torque on this veh is 80 ft lbs i am a hyundai tech at a dealership. when pumping the brake pedal do it slow

Did you open the resevoir cap when compressing the pistons?
@stevemccooleq

It's better to open the bleeder screw on the caliper & let excess fluid go out of there. You then may need to add some new fluid to the master cylinder.

It's good maintenance to flush the brake fluid annually. The only other time is when the hydraulic lines have been disconnected and air has gotten into the system.
