Man this job is mind blowing. When you said there was more work than the car was worth you weren’t talking crap!!! You have replaced the entire floor pan and rails from windscreen to the back. And beautiful work by the way.😎

I’m not sure how the owner found you but that was the best decision he made. Not many folks would take the time / patience to do this properly. Hopefully in a month or two it will be back on the road!

I like the 65 and 66 coupe. Think the smaller size looks better than the larger 67+ with the fastback. I think that guy is going to be MUCH happier after allowing you to PROPERLY repair the ol girl! Already looks 1000x better! Nice work bub!

The kit to make it a fastback is over $6000, unless you can find a cheap fastback donor car.

Such a shame - that car wasn’t the worst I’ve seen before all the shoddy metal work. You’re doing great work and the owner will be able to enjoy with peace of mind.

These poor Mustangs have been cut up sliced diced and thrown together. I found one the had a T engine Vin in one spot ( 6 cyl coupe) but the car was a 65 Fastback? Another Vin was a D code coupe. Another was an A code 225 hp automatic transmission fastback that matched the door tag and title. 3 cars welded together. I called the highway patrol to see what to do and they validated the fastback 225 hp auto vin, and it had a title and the hidden Vins were fixed. It was a mess to get it right. The top was welded to a patched coupe. I am blind now and disabled and that car when I was 40 took 10 years to finish. And I was done for. I miss my cars. My 65 LTD with the 500 hp 390 is sitting and I miss that car .

At least I know that you are a guy that should sleep well at night knowing you actually give a Damb about the safety of your customers and not just how fat ya wallet gets. Truely talented. I do think the people that sent that car on the road like it was should be exposed so real car people don’t lose there dreams to those maggots

You should rent out your services to prospective buyers. You could save people a ton of heartbreak for a nominal fee.

I agree ☝️ For $100-200 this owner would have saved over $10k in repairs… A pre-purchase inspection is always a wise investment!

I think I would have tack that whole car up with the 1/4 panels and trunk lid on it before I welded anything solid
@HotRodGuyGarage8 ай бұрын
From the point the trunk floor is installed the quarters and taillight panel will have to be fitted as a assembly
@bryantinsley45066 ай бұрын
I am replacing a partial frame rail on a 66 mustang convertible and I noticed that the place where the spring attaches to the frame rail is a 1/2 inch closer to the back of the car compared to the original frame rail , did I get a bad part or do I have to replace both sides for it to be Even. I still have the tail light panel attached. Quarter panels, trunk floor have been removed.
@HotRodGuyGarage6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately quality just isn't there on these parts I was in the same boat it's close but not quite right in these areas but the shackles should compensate for some misalignment but just doing one side makes it a bigger issue
