I always wondered if the reason Dade has that ancient luggable is that it was the computer he had in the 80s before his conviction. It always seemed very out of date for 1995 so I'm guessing it was. Then again a lot of the computers the characters have in this film were too old for 1995 so who knows, only Kate had anything remotely up to date.

I still love the movie. I write software for a living, and have programmed since the 1970s, and this movie's depiction of programming is completely hilarious. Reasons to love the movie though: Young Angela Jolie, kick ass soundtrack, some pretty funny lines, "hack the planet". One of my favorite lines: "One more dude out of you, and I'm going to slap the shit out of you." Joey's attempts to choose a cool hacker handle, such as ultralaser crack me up. Razor and Blade were pretty amusing. It's just fun. Not a movie you take seriously. I watch to relax and laugh at.
