This is a very good channel. As a psychology student i always feel psychology is misinterpreted, like it was a jumbo mumbo disipline or an olistic bullshit: Also, very often the results of some researches are wrongly generalized or misunderstood and you end up with titles like "scientists have discovered how to pick up girls" or "according to scientists, [insert random bullshit here]", all things that are not even remotely considerble real psychology. Instead, here I found theories that are not only interesting and well explained, but also based on scientific works. I' m really happy to have found this channel, keep it up :)

so true, KZbin nowadays is all about money.

Robert the world is... People gotta eat and have a place to sleep, not to mentions hookers and crack and heroin. Gotta think about the necessities. But the reason he doesnt have millions of views is because it takes time for a channel to grow, videos become viral by people sharing videos. Also the new system is not showing as many videos, i used to get a bunch of new recommends, now they are the same for days. I think advertisers cant afford how much youtube is growing

This guy narrates but doesn't come out to be seen. I've noticed that a lot of the high count videos are done by pretty girls, some of whom do not have much to say.

That totally explains why, growing up, why my tight circle of friends were so generous. When I first entered the work world and I observed a colleague worry about gettin $5 to $20 paid back for someone spotting them lunch or something, It was so alien to me. To this day, it seems so foolish to make a fuss over a few bucks. The ill will you create over pennys is just so damaging. You just lost an ally covering for you when you don't feel like coming to work. Or someone to help lighten your work load, over a measly $5. That's what's called: penny smart, dollar stupid.

I can vouch for one thing for sure, when in college I always made it a point to be friends with people on the 'fringes', I did this because I'd been bullied in school and had developed the habit of being concerned for people who got ignored. By the time in college, I was quite popular with my friends but I always kept an eye open for those people on the sidelines. And, do you know what happened? I won college elections for 2 straight years (grades 11 and 12) and 3 years after that during graduation. Of course, I hadn't planned all this, it was just the results of a decision I made as a young person. So yeah value the weak links!!! They're NOT weak but your strength!!!

So I'm stuck in my situation because I don't make new friends? How cool is that! Now I realize what happens when I specifically mention to my close friends that I don't want to meet their friends.

2:17 "Ever notice how black people tend to hang around with other black people?" I lol'd so hard at this
@djangomarine66588 жыл бұрын
Statistically, black people have more friends of different races than white people. It was just a bad example but it's still a valid point that people of the same race and background tend to hang around each other.

how awkward would it be to ask a 'weak tie' to introduce you to someone.
@rakesh13698 жыл бұрын
+BiteSizePsych - but if I approach a weak for potential relationship, they may know new people, yes but because they will be so different from us, it may not turn out to be quite fruitful, will it?
@torosalvajebcn7 жыл бұрын
There is a difference between asking for information, and asking for a favor. Starting a casual conversation with a weak tie can have many benefits in terms of information, ideas, etc.

This is why I like my crew of two friends. They're both white Americans, but one of them is a rapper. Whereas the other one is a hard worker and has knowledge in mechanics. I'm Mexican American, and a freerunner. My rapping friend has taught me about how to rap and I've become a decent writer of lyrics. In exchange I taught my friends how to do flips/tricking

I knew what I was doing was already connecting with the weak ties from time to time, until this broke that glass and now I might do this even more. Kind of begs the next question of, what if I'm the jack of all trades and happen to have connections nearly everywhere? Would we consider that as average ties? or just as equally weak?
