Forget about Hackintosh built using OpenCore or Clover, it's dead. There's much better way how to build a Hackintosh and I will show it to you in this video. Virtual Mac is the way to go. macOS on PC the easiest and also best way. It has so many advantages over "the Old Way" based on OpenCore or Clover, that you should really consider to build your Hackintosh "the New Way". If you want your Hackintosh to be easy to set up, easy to maintain, easy to backup and restore, if you don't want to be limited to really narrow motherboard and other hardware possibilities, if you want triple boot or more with all systems running at the same time without need to reboot, then "the Hackintosh New Way" is the only way to go. :)

Hi, i'm interested in picking this up and but have some queries. I have 2 ssd's with windows and os x installed and would rather not re-install. Can I run the hypervisor from a flash drive and add the physical disks onto the hypervisor as they are and avoid the reinstall? To run mutiple vm's as you have in your video, do I require 3 GPU's, 1 for each? if so and I don't have multiple GPU's does that limit me to running 1 vm at a time? or outputting 1 vm at a time? With this method of running os x, are nvidia turing gpu's such as the 2080 super supported? or do we still need to get an amd card? Thanks in advance.

This sounds so much more interesting than "the old way"! I love tinkering with my computer and actually bought parts to build a Hackintosh over ten years ago. It worked as advertised but as you stated several times, there was a fear time and time again about upgrading the OSX from one version to the next. Typically the sound would stop working or the network, and so on. In the end I just tired of all research and stuck to my Windows PC. It was all done out of curiosity at the time and I really only needed Windows. I´m looking forward to see what Hypervisor you´ll recommend and use. Yes, I clicked on "Subscribe". Can you share any guide to get started with it? my specs : intel i5 4th gen , nvidia gt730, sata ssd, 16GB DDR3 ram. Nice video, I have a question though: Does this method make it possible to do a hackintosh with any GPU? That's my problem with doing hackintosh in 2023, thanks to Apple Silicon, now GPU support is extremely limited, and you need a specific GPU (Most of them are too old) to use macOS, I was thinking maybe these hypervisors can "emulate" different GPU architectures. Thanks!

@Morgonaut That looks like an interesting build. However, it doesn't look like you have disk encryption. Is that something that would be easy to add to your build? Also I'm wondering, how easily will it be to upgrade Windows / Mac VM guest to newer version . Personally, I would use 5950x, it's much cheaper than Threadripper, though you wouldn't be able to have 3 gpus. Unless, maybe you add some external gpu.

Hi Theresa! Great video! If you want MacOS the new way via virtualization, don't you still need a boot manager like opencore or clover? Why you say we don't need to depend on opencore or clover developers? Is there a way to use macos on a type 1 hypervisor, without using opencore or clover?

Interesting video. I can still remember your old videos that talk about it. At the moment I don't run Mac virtualized but I am running Proxmox bare metal on my system and use Windows 10 as my daily OS completely virtualized and I am loving it. Better to make backups, easy way to migrate systems when I change hardware or entire computers and quickly create a snapshot before installing important updates to avoid a major crash. It is really the future

I have a quick question. Is it possible to restore from a Hackintosh (time machine) backup of a clover High Sierra build to a new virtual machine also running on High Sierra? I'm interested to try your new virtualization method, but it would also be helpful to restore from my existing clover build before upgrading to a later version of OSX using virtualization. Thank you in advance for any answer. :)

I have done windows gpu passtrough with kvm/qemu/libvirt for gaming before and now got interested in creating a hackintosh with opencore. I would say that both methods are somewhat difficult make and if you are more familiar with making it the old way I could see it being easier. Also even if the new way is basically same as bare metal it still not as performant and if you have weak hardware that small difference can matter.

It's very interesting to see Type-1 hypervisor having to be able to display the VM screens on very same "server" machine. Some kind of "thin interface" to select which VM to boot and display. I've managed to run Mac OS on a VM like what was also mentioned in this video, through arch KVM but the "boot experience" is not great. It feels awkward to have a Linux running before you run the Mac VM, although I think there's a way to just script it out to auto-boot, maybe that's what LTT did afterwards. However a better experience would be to have a selection of OS/OS'es you want to boot; although I have no idea on how to fork the display into three monitors. And yes, I totally agree with this video, the future is Virtualization; even Android relies on virtualization.

Hi, I've heard that the only way to have a control over the fans gpu is via flashing a vbios but I have RX 6800XT and that's quite impossible for me.. my gpu temperature is about 55 - 70C and most of the time it's 60 -70C which is very high and it seems like the fans don't work at all in MacOS... It does indeed recognized on MacOS with full hardware acceleration so I can't find a workaround over this.. Do you have any idea of what can be done in order to fix that issue? Thanks! :)

in the NEW WAY you don't need to flash anything, you can just load any VBIOS file on start. I still wonder why there are still people who are willing to experience problems, troubles, limited options etc. instead of taking advantage of the NEW WAY!
