The movie had already received an R rating from the MPAA, but a recent shooting spooked Warner Bros. into cutting blood and violence from it anyway. So they basically released a PG-13 movie with an R rating. Such a shame Scream Factory didn't add back the cut scenes for their Collector's Edition Blu-ray.

I love Valentine. It's one of the best slasher movies. It's something about it that really intrigues me. It has this sexy and guilty pleasure vibe such as the concept, element, tone, and theme as it was just constructed perfectly. It was such a unique and creative perspective in the slasher genre. The actresses did a great job portraying their roles. Also I love that twist ending and that song called Breed by Snake River Conspiracy that plays at the ending credits. It was just a really perfect way to end the movie. To this day I keep up a tradition of watching it every February and I consider it decent. Valentine is a true blue modern gem. Jamie Blanks directed a classic that will be in our hearts forever. It never gets old.😍😎👍💯

1:19:38 The review on IMDB is referring to the Humor theory, an ancient theory on how the human body worked that pretty much fell out of fashion around 1850, but was regarded as mainstream medicine since ancient Greek times. Basically for the human body to work correctly there needs to be a balance of the four humors : Blood,Yellow Bile, Black Bile and Phlegm. People were thought to have different personalities depending on what humor was the prevalent one : Sanguine(blood),Choleric(yellow bile),Melancholic(black bile), Phlegmatic(you guessed it, phlegm). The wikipedia page is,for once, very well written so if you are interested in outdated medical theories feel free to read it.

I remember when this was new, TV Guide had the back pages for the premium movie channel listings, and the blurb for it was something like 'a kid who was jilted and beaten at a Valentine's Day dance comes back for revenge', and the 'kid jilted and beaten at a dance' part was what got me interested in seeing it. Like WHAT is that? Eventually I rented it from the video store, and I really liked the dynamic of the characters, how they really do seem like adults who have been best friends since junior high, and I really liked how they all got their just desserts. I felt REALLY bad for Jeremy, like WOW, and wondered just how broken his brain got between the dance and being Angel. The movie's look and feel seriously has 'Criminal Minds' vibes--if it was done a few years later, it would totally have been written and directed by Matthew Gray Gubler;)

I never really got this movie. It seems to me that Jeremy already “won” before the present day scenes started. He had been in a relationship with the hottest one. Why didn’t he just kill the other girls before she dumped him? Was his alcoholism something he made up?

Jeremy Melton had a horrible childhood as he was misunderstood and a social outcast. To me what determines that is that you don't fit in such as being rejected by society or a social group which established Jeremy's image and reputation. For the past 13 years Jeremy went through a whole and full transformation in order to change his appearance but unfortunately deep down he is still dealing with childhood trauma as he was victim of bullying emotionally and mentally. Jeremy was a victim of his classmate's cruelty and view of him which made him overcome with rage and vengeance thus making him into a serial killer and alcoholic.

hearing Crystal call Tony selfish is probably one of the most hypocritical things I've heard in a while. Now i remember why I'm happily single.

I don't know her in person but from what i've heard she is quite the opposite. She even does charity (and i'm not talking about her sex life). But who knows, maybe you know her in person and can spill out the tea. We stan Crystal here though

Definitely needed more kills and up until last year when I I watched Valentine I always thought Dorothy was the killer and it was just happenstance that he was grown Jeremy Milton

To the audience Dorothy is a red herring as it makes us think she is the killer based on the argument between her and Kate when they both accused their boyfriend's of being the killer which is Adam ( Kate's boyfriend) and Campbell ( Dorothy's boyfriend) as Dorothy figure that Kate was jealous but in reality Kate was stating logical and common facts. 1. She been dating Campbell for a month and she doesn't even know his last name?, 2. She mention what Ruthie his ex-girlfriend said, and 3. How well do you really know Campbell? It made her angry that she finally told Kate of how she feels about being " The Fat One" as she rants about their personality and characteristic traits as she said " Come on Kate!!! You've always been the popular one and Shelly was always the brainy one, and Lily was the fun one, and Paige was the sexy one, and I was the big fat one!!!!! and as far as you concerned that's exactly the way how it is well you know what? screwed all of you!!!!!" that was a bad move on Dorothy's part as she angrily walks away from Kate which made her a easy target for Jeremy. If Dorothy stay with Kate they could have both defeat the killer and Kate will see who the killer is and Kate will apologize to Dorothy for not believing her that Adam was the killer as they will both be the sole survivors of the killing spree. When Adam unmasked the "killer" it is revealed to be Dorothy which shocked and confused Kate but their's a twist as it shows Adam nose is bleeding which indicates he is Jeremy Melton after all as he is the true killer as he framed Dorothy for the murders just like Dorothy framed him for sexual assault. The audience know that because in the opening scene of the movie Jeremy's nose was bleeding when he was attacked by school bullies at the Valentine's Day dance. To this day it still gives me chills and goosebumps 😱😰 as it was just a really perfect way to end the movie due to the works of director Jamie Blanks as it was just constructed perfectly.😍😎👍💯

The characteristics Casey read off imdb are called Humorism. Ancient Greek and Roman doctors used to believe there are four types of fluid (or humors) in our bodies, and our personalities come from the balance among them. For example, they believed a sanguine person is friendly because they have a high amount of blood compared to other personality types. Humorism is a bit like astrology in that people used to think it was actual science, but now it's used more to categorize different types of people. For example, you could probably divide up The Golden Girls or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by which of the four humors each character represents.

You guys should totally review the original 1981 classic "My Bloody Valentine" next year!!! I live in the area where that movie was filmed (Nova Scotia, Canada) and just recently met the actor who played the killer in it at a reunion event for the film. Hope to see Casey on the show a bit more too! Great fun 👍

Jason loves this movie because of it's ultra-gritty realistic post menopausal elevation of dialect molded by modernity and delivered with a Shakespearen flare reserved for the extraordinary genius of Kenny Branagh's performance in Mary Shelley's Fankenstein. I gives it two thumbs up....the front and one slippery tongue up the bum. But only while she's taking a dump. This films critique is the obvious inspiration for next years critique of Blade 2: Electric Boogaloo Article composed by Harry Knowles. Yes, the Harry Knowles. Sponsored by Pfizer. I might have too much free time to kill. I'll see myself out.

I miss the early 2000s/late 90s slashers. That's why I loved Thanksgiving so much. It was definitely in my top three 2023 right next to infinity pool and strays.

I'm sure someone has already brought this up, but the Sanguine, Melancholic, Choleric, and Phegmatic thing refers to an old personality type theory. This also goes back to the medieval medical theory that people were governed by their "humors." So sanguine=blood=passionate, outgoing and phlegmatic=phlegm=people with the personality of loogies

It never gets old. You can not possibly forget about this movie as it's just so memorable and well-known. It is one of Jamie Blanks best and finest work in cinema. When it was first released it received negative reviews which totally confused me but despite that I hold it very close to my heart. The movie was just constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. It was such a fun rollercoaster thrill ride. You have a good time with this movie. I'm so happy that Scream Factory Blu-Ray released a Collector's Edition as it's finally getting the recognition and credibility it deserves as critics and audiences are fully understanding and comprehending the interpretation of the story.😍😎👍💯
