15:43 actually because this movie premiered in theaters and on Max on the same day, no one saw it in theaters so Matrix Resurrections bombed horribly so Lana probably didn’t make a shit load of money.😢 the film company that made this movie has either sued or is in the process of suing Warner Bros.

I went in to this skeptical of the new Morpheus and how they'd explain him looking different (or whether or not they'd address it at all). It was fine. On one hand, I feel for the Wachowskis because WB, being the slimy corporation that it is, was going to make this without them anyway. On the other hand, given how blatantly the script mocked WB, Lana was clearly given lots of creative freedom here and still put together a mediocre at best movie. I would understand her middle finger to WB more had she not been provided with as much liberty that she clearly had (though I'm definitely not claiming that she had absolute control, as no director of a major studio film does).

Because both Neo and Trinity died at the end of the trilogy, Resurrections needed to open showing more of their resurrection by the machines. Similarly, a more fleshed-out depiction of the 'Machine civil war' that happened between Revolutions and Resurrections would have added the much-needed context that the current film was so obviously lacking. Not having more of the original actors or its original darker cyberpunk feel to instead replace it with a campy atmosphere throughout, led to that feeling we're all having over what was a landmark example of film making turned corporate mess, the very thing the original film stood against. Heard there's a sequel. Maybe we’ll eventually discover the entire Resurrections film was just another one of Neo’s dreams from safe within his pod. That would explain the disjointed, dream-like campy theme to Resurrections and allow the next film to be the real Matrix outside of the modal that was created not by Neo, but the (original) Architect. The line in Resurrections where Neo says "I've had dreams that weren't just dreams," as well as what the Analyst tells him about his current "reality" are strong clues. This would also mean Lana played with all our minds. It’s WE that were in the Matrix within a Matrix in Resurrections. We dreamt Neo's dream. By the next film, I fully expect Neo to wake up from that dream to again become the One he still is, and is still becoming.

before i go on with the comment i sincerely wanna say depression can be a very serious issue, without being over dramatic i wanted to share my very unique story with this movie it is honastly hard too talk about so im just gunna smoke a bowl and begin... ok here it goes... so it was 1999 and i was 7 years old when i was introduced too the groundbreaking film the matrix. it became my favorite movie of all time, i was bullied heavily because of my love for the film and its style... i remember owning it on vhs and when all my friends wanted to come over and play glover on n64 i would constantly shut it off after 30 minutes and force them too watch the matrix, it may have been the 3rd day in a row i invited my friend jon kren over to play glover just to execute my secret plan again and force him to rewatch the matrix with me, time went by and i decided too never watch the sequels, i was honastly afraid too, then matrix 4 began filming so september of 2021 i decided too watch 2 and 3 too catch up before 4. and after that terrible zion party scene and some awful special effects i thought too my self.... eh... not as bad as i thought they were gunna be. i then followed a channel called matrix explained and watched every single video on the channel before the new movie came out. after 20 years of abcense i had finally caught up with the lore too perfection.... and then in this movie everything was purged out of existence...

The pills disconnect you or your consciousness from the Matrix, not just your body. Where Morpheus Jr is concerned there was frankly no reason for him to be Morpheus. I get that supposedly he was killed inside the Matrix during that Matrix online video game that is considered canon but that being the reason Laurence Fishburne wasn’t even asked back really bothers me. The “he died” excuse is horseshit when your entire film is about RESURRECTING dead characters!! Im with you guys I don’t love or hate this film, I think the first act examines, satirizes and pokes holes in the Matrix franchise and film reboots made off nostalgia in a great unexpected way. The downside is the latter half of the film being boring and containing the absolute worst fighting choreography filmed in the worst way! I couldn’t believe it, of all the things you expect a Matrix film to get right it’s the fighting!? Yeesh.

Marvel/Disney didn’t succeed in pleasing China because Shang-Chi didn’t even get released there, although the movie otherwise seemed to be well-received by critics and audiences and is the #2 movie at the 2021 domestic box office. It would’ve been interesting to witness Tony’s bafflement if they reviewed that movie. The action scenes in Matrix Resurrections do seem to resemble the style found in later Wachowskis work (like Jupiter Ascending) rather than the original Matrix trilogy, plus Yuen Woo-ping did not return as fight choreographer.

I think Resurrections is a reference to how they resurrected multiple people from the dead for this movie. Some dumb people will say that stories are more about characters then the setting. The Matrix is the Setting, Neo and Trinity are the Characters. I believe I am not the only one that liked it the way it is. A joke that should not have been made, but was forced to be made by the system :) It's funny how the movie explains everything and people still say "I don't get it". No one really needed this but Hollywood smelled the money, I like what they did with it. Everyone just plays them self in RL now and they can't care less about Virtual Reality at this point. We got it, everyone got Virtual Reality now.

I was a bit let down by the movie, I think a way to make this more interesting is if neo was a program in this, (They had neo's body in the matrix, they could have analyzed him and built a program based off of him) Like his "powers" come from being a program connected to the system, the analyst is like deus ex machina from the ending of matrix 3, And neo Neo (New neo) is a rogue program like smith or merv from the previous matrix, They had this idea already with morpheus in this movie and they did nothing interesting with morpheus, They could have done an interesting thing about identity how neo Neo is not the real Neo But in the movie Morpheus being a rogue program is underused and the new neo body was underwhelming for such an important aspect I hate that the movie even exists though, I wish it the series was left with 4 movies (I count animatrix)
