Okay just one thing that's been bothering me for a while now is the part where it says, women are deficient in religion because they don't fast nor pray on their menses; my take is that why are women held accountable for following the very command God gave? It's not like they didn't pray/fast out of sheer will, they restrained from those activities because ALLAH TOLD THEM TO. I'm sorry if I'm coming out as aggressive- I don't mean to be. It's just that I've always been fighting for islam and arguing the heck out of people in even issues like sexual intercourse with slaves, dipping fly in your drink and what not. But this one ahadeeth, I felt so broken when I heard about it, because for the first time in years, I was left speechless in this regard- I didn't have an answer to my own question, let alone the non-muslims. May Allah *REALLY REALLY* guide me now. Edit: Allahuakbar people, I couldn't find the answer to my question when I asked it to myself but thanks to the brother in the reply section, I started feeling [sub-consciously] offended about him looking down on islam (even though, he wasn't intentional). So right, the explaination to the hadeeth would be: Even though women are *prohibited* from praying/fasting on their menses and they don't do it out of their whims, it still clearly cuts them off some slack regarding their obligations, in comparison to men. So as to why, this would make them deficient in religion would be, not because of their personal faults but because of a natural advantage men would have over them in case of merit. The equation remains balanced as: Men earning extra reward but having to work harder *while* women being deficient in religion but getting a monthly break from those obligations. Those that are still not convinced, let's talk about another hadeeth where the Rasulallah Sallallahualaiyhiwasallam said that our mothers deserve all of our love and affection thrice in a row and fourth time, it's the father. [I'm paraphrasing the thing, bear with me.] Now one might say, why is the man disadvantaged against the woman when clearly Allah didn't give him the ability to give birth. It's not like he doesn't want to give birth to his children, he is biologically prohibited from it! But again, the equation remains balanced 'cause: Woman gets the higher station but has to go through excruciating pain and suffering *while* men not having the same status as them as fathers, but also not having to go through that misery of nine months and that unbearable agony during childbirth Alhumdulillah, for this conclusion ya Rabb- May Allah always keep us guided and let us not die till we have clear iman in our hearts and may He guide those of us struggling against their intellectual faculties to hold on to the deen and make it easy for them to come back to this wholesome faith.

@@raahilahmed8716I don't think Islam is bad, because first of all, I have a literal million reasons, both scientific and spiritual as to why Islam is the only logical, rational and true religion- a single ahadeeth is clearly not enough to wash all that evidence out. Secondly, I think maybe, this hadeeth points out to the fact that women have relatively less obligations and duties in the religion, AKA, less merit as well. I mean, even though they are prohibited from praying/fasting and are not doing it out of mere whim, but doesn't the prohibition make life easier for them? So, in a way, if they're being cut some slack in their obligatory efforts, it is natural for them to compensate for it in the consequential reward as well.

Subhan’Allah so happy to see you struggle and yet still find the light. Allah truly tests those whom he loves. Keep consistent! One suggestion though: Always check whether those to whom you are arguing against (in support of Islam), whether there is any presupposition of liberal ethics whereby you subconsciously try to harmonize Islam with liberalism before deconstructing that presupposition i.e., liberalism. Often, we accept liberalism as an epistemic starting point before having our opponents justify the foundations of liberalism. You’d be surpised how shaky their foundations are. And that we don’t need to become too apologetic for Islam. Therefore, it’s always better to challenge their ethics before Islam is defended. You can check out Mohammad Hijab’s ‘Social Liberalism’ on the Londoniyyah series.

But infact there is biological fact that the cranial cavity size of men's brain is bigger than that of women. Scientists therefore concluded that men have more per say knowledge capacity than women. And its not just the case with human beings but even in mammals. The papa elephant has bigger brain than mama elephant and so on. That's why in the most of egalitarian systems like Scandinivian nations, the percent involvement of women in STEM fields is less than 6%. They go more for humanities. Search Jordan Peterson and "Equality Paradox" research. Secondly, is intellectual capacity really a basis of ranking men and women? We muslims know that Allah has given women somethings that aren't given to male and vice versa, biologically, physically, emotionally, anatomically. For example Males have more physical strength than females, does that indicate any kind of value heirarchy. Females have more ability to maintain home, they are more attractive, more capable of raising new generation than men. We don't compare apples and oranges. Islam says equality of genders in value, not identicality.

Three questions for you guys: 1. Can you provide a sahih chain of transmitters from Bukhari to the manuscript you use as a reference for the specific hadith thus establishing certainty it has reached us without defects (erroneous memorizing/copying, additions or omissions)? 2. Women can pray if they wish, during their menstrual cycle, but they don't because they obey to revelation which orders them not to pray. So why is their following revelation considered a deficiency in deen? 3. The single testimony of female hadith transmitters, for example the wives of the Prophet a.s., our mothers in deen, is considered often more trustworthy than the testimony of numerous male transmiters. Hadith transmission is more important than an ordinary debt record, so why consider in the case of hadith the testimony of a single woman as equal or superior to that of a man?
@mcara52923 жыл бұрын
Obviously you are not qualified to answer, and that is fine. I am usually not keen on conversing with individuals who dodge questions and mistake dogmatic attitudes for yaqeen. Best of luck in your journey of the study of the deen.

@Ibn Kamal Al-Hanbali I do not have an agenda of rejecting every answer that does not fit my preconceptions. The response of Ibn Baz is an apologetic interpretation that departs from the literal and plain meaning of the text. That is a valid approach when faced with a text that appears to be somehow problematic. You did not answer the question "Do people who quote the latest Bukhari or Fat'hul Bari edition have, between them and that book, a chain of reliable and trustworthy transmitters that meet the conditions Bukhari applied to his chain between himself and the Prophet a.s.". Is Bukhari, in your creed, a revealed book or simply another ecxellent human endeavor like the Muwata of Malik or Musnad of Ahmed, which contain reports attributed to the Prophet, but are however considered as works that can be questioned, criticized and reevaluated by scholars, since they do not reach us by indisputable multiple oral and written transmissions via transmitters that have all the strict requisites Bukhari used in his methodology.

Are you qualified to claim a more prevalent claim than Scholars? Some manuscripts have full links but some transmitters are unknown , this is bridged by tawator of different chains where the unknowns are in different periods. 2. Women can't pray during their cycle . Even if they do the act it's not praying because it requires tahara and cleanness to be actually prayer. And for that they're obliged not to do it because it can't be complete. 3.And what's the point . If you understood from the hadith that Women can't be as intelligent that's your problem. Deficiency is mentioned in the Hadith and this term is relative like deficient to what. Combining with other hadith Interpreters reached a conclusion that it meant relative to its Emotion , and that's not undermining her intellect but emphasizing the overtaking of emotions sometimes. This meant that positions of leadership are more favorable to Men by nature. Also the testimony depends on Expertise not just Gender or circumstance . Hadith transmission is not affected by Gender as both are versed in their tongues. Hudood for instance are affected by conditional emotion and stress which is why it is recommended to take Men and Women only for necessity. In case of Debt it is usually that every man was exposed to some sort of financial role , while it wasn't necessary for women and if she had acclaimed expertise the Gender wouldn't matter in this .

Liberal modernists and feminists will feign outrage, but their moral system is what creates this situation. Liberal principles of individual choice, female empowerment, and destruction of patriarchy create a society of people who have no family to take care of them in their old age. The liberal feminist solution to this problem is to create more welfare programs. What this means is that they want the elderly to live alone in what are essentially pods, their only human interaction being with "care" takers to check if they're still alive once a week. Let me put it like this. The only human solution is for the elderly to be surrounded by loving family in their old age. The only way to get that is patriarchy, gender roles, and other limitations on individual freedom. But the liberal mind can not allow any of that. So the elderly will continue to suffer, and liberal feminists and modernists will continue to pretend like they care about humanity.
