In Greek mythology, butterflies were often associated with the soul. That’s why an enemy called “soul catcher” is just big ball of butterflies, and why Than’s keepsake is the “pierced butterfly”, since his job is to collect souls. So while there’s no specific instance of a butterfly ball in Greek mythology (as far as I’m aware, I’m no expert), the enemy design is a neat nod to mythology while also being a unique and interesting enemy design on Supergiant’s part.

Yep. Also a “butterfly ball” is an origami construction that looks like a beach ball. You throw it into the air, smack it, and it bursts into a bunch of paper “butterflies.”

I started playing two days ago and I've been making it to hades somewhat consistently but I always die halfway through stage 2. It's just so satisfying seeing you just Bonk him on higher difficulties. Stay safe and stay toasty

For future playthroughs, to anyone that doesn't know, you can destroy the small butterflies the giant butterfly ball releases using the special of each weapon instead of just trying to dodge them all or eating the damage. It's easiest with the bow.

Man I'd love to see them add a new god. Apollo for example. He was the god of prophecy, music and the sun (and a few other things). So he could be a fire/light/prophecy themed god. Also of archery but we have artemis for that. Hera was just the goddess of women and marriage so not sure what theme would work there given we have aphrodite already. Hephaestus could be interesting as well with the fire/forge theme. There's definitely room for a light/fire/musical themed god like Apollo and he's the only well known god other than Hera left. He could have a blind/burn status effect, an awesome sun nova call or cast doing massive instant aoe damage. Maybe the burn could be a stackable "increased damage taken" debuff with a small dot component. For prophecy theme his legendary could allow you to choose your next few boons and hammers from the entire list of potential takes and not just 3. The duo combos are endless too. These are pretty lame and sub-stsndard ideas I bet the devs could do an awesome job though. I'd be down for a musical themed god too.

@@junkiesrobot yeah, it'd be nice if they just did a small dlc update with an extra level, god and weapon at least but as you say it's not their style sadly:( Unlike their other games though hades is a roguelite with tons of replayability so I think it would be worth their while. Alas it is but a dream

Fun meme build, for me, Hades’ spear, quick spin, massive spin, and Athena attack. Works surprisingly well with like 20-25 heat. I, personally, wouldn’t go more.

Huh it seems the shroud didn't add any damage to Than's attack during the Hades fight, did the same 5950 that he did to the Bull earlier. So does that backstab bug only work with the expose effect?

Just wondering, what's the heat considered for the "better" part of the playerbase? I've been using malphon and it's really fun but after 75 escape attempts my highest heat is 23. Is that good or just whatever?

23 is solid, the milestone for "better" players is 32 Id say and you can always aim higher, its possible with enough practice, and luck obviously helps

@@Fourlamas alright thanks so that's my goal set. I'd say I'm actually pretty good (not to toot my own horn) but I underestimate the damage some enemies (mainly hades and theseus) do so I forget to stop attacking when I dash strike

Would thanatos have been affected by privileged status? If so then you should have used the special before using thanatos for weak.

PvZ got bad after EA acquired the developer (PopCap) and filled the game with crap. Really too bad. One of my first experiences with the original iPad was playing PvZ and just being mesmerized by it.

I doubt it. It was getting updated because it was in early access. It's had a full release so it's no longer in development. Supergiant Games has never made DLC but they did say they might for Hades in the noclip documentary. I doubt it though.
