Pakistan's economic problems are symptoms of its geopolitical problems. Pakistanis will never prosper until they fight for independence from Pakistani Generals and the Anglo-$axons and switch sides in the Great Game. 200 years ago 5,000 British soldiers along with 12,000 sepoys crossed the Indus River and entered Afghanistan and carried out regime change by overthrowing King Dost Khan of Afghanistan in an unprovoked act of aggression. The British Empire feared King Khan may form diplomatic relations with the Czar of Russia. The Royal Grand Indus Army that owns, occupies and ru(i)ns Pakistan maintains Britain's imperial legacy and enforces British foreign policy in Afghanistan and Indus valley for a fistful of $$$. The Great Game or Ghazwa-e-Rus.

Sugarcane is a perennial crop, for a correct comparison of water consumption Cotton + Wheat water requirements must be added together to match the crop duration of sugarcane. Otherwise you are comparing an annual crop with a seasonal crop, and in terms of input requirements, the seasonal crop will obviously have lower requirements.

This is a fantastic and lucid description of Pakistans economy. Not only its economy but its total state of affairs. This talk is as beautiful as any ghazal full of laments and ode’s . Unfortunately it is like all ghazals a story of unrequited and unattainable love. This time for Pakistan. Because neither the politician nor military leaders will listen to a economist. 👋 Wah kya bhat hai.

It stood true that economist is a person that only knows the reasons of happenings. And can't predict into the course of future. Its bcz when all this economic mess was cooking where these economists actually were hiding

Guys the tragedy is no politician or military leader listens to economists. Economists prepare papers and politicians/military leaders dump the papers for populist ploicies.

Very informative podcast. Learnt a lot of new things. Pakistani economic sector is seriously messed up. It seems that we need some sort of change in whole political paradigm to counter this mess up.

Very easy to make a new country (only 14 years from concept to creation in this particular case - all you need is to be violent enough eg.: Direct Action Day), but really hard to keep that country going. As Jinnah's political descendants are finding out. Too bad Jinnah didn't live long enough to find that out himself.

Dr. Pasha has got it all wrong. There is only one solution to all of Pakistan's problem and that is to switch sides in the Great Game. 200 years ago 5,000 British soldiers along with 12,000 sepoys crossed the Indus River and entered Afghanistan and carried out regime change by overthrowing King Dost Khan of Afghanistan in an unprovoked act of aggression. The first step Pakistan should take is to throw out corrupt guys like Pasha. He and his ilk have stolen all the aid given to the poor in Pakistan, just go and see the lavish lifestyle he lives. These guys literally snatched food from the hands of the poor children. So don't pay any attention to his pompous gibberish now.

Very good discussion but sir doesn't tell what is the main problem in Pakistan. The problems are Madrasa education Mulla & military rules Women's rights Corrupt policy Radicalization Promotion of terrors Lack of good education Kashmir Pakistan is going to stone age. The feature is dark. Main cause mix islam with every thing.
