Well, he’s never achieved anything near that kind of weight in competition conditions so, no.

In 2020, Hafthor Bjornsson was originally set to break the 500kg deadlift record in a competition setting at the World’s Ultimate Strongman (WUS) event. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was canceled as the world went into lockdown. To ensure the attempt remained legitimate, WUS arranged for an official to be physically present at Bjornsson's gym, while another official monitored the lift via live stream. This was a groundbreaking moment, as it was the first and only time strongman fans witnessed the weights being weighed and verified live, making it one of the most technically legitimate deadlifts ever recorded. Despite this, some argue that Thor performs better in competition environments, as the energy and support of the crowd elevate his performance. He thrives on the atmosphere, which could have potentially pushed him to lift even more in an actual contest. It's important to note that the lift he completed in 2020 was a standard bar deadlift, in which he successfully lifted 501kg while wearing a single-ply squat suit for support. This differs from the Elephant Bar deadlift, a unique strongman variation that Thor already holds the record for and is aiming to push further. Unlike the standard bar, the Elephant Bar is longer, allowing for more flex and requiring different technique and strength endurance. Additionally, Elephant Bar deadlifts in strongman competitions do not allow the use of a suit, making it a rawer and arguably more challenging feat.

The official record is 501kg. The record Eddie's fanboys cling on too is 500kg, which is only recognized as the world record by Giants Live, who happen to be business partners and friends of Eddie. Thor's 501kg. was under strict timing and weight jumps. Eddie's 500kg was tailormade for him, by him and his businesspartners. His bar, his weights, his timing (Jerry had to wait 45 minutes in between lifts for Eddie to get ready), his weight jumps (Brian wasn't allowed to pull 480kg). Had to envision his kids trapped under a bus, getting mind controlled by a team of psychological people and managed an incredible lift, while questionably soft lock out. Meanwhile Thor pulled 501 easy, kissed his wife, was online on CSGO an hour later, chilling.

501 is official, I mean if you could hold Iceland's strongest man in 2023 in Thor's Power Gym, you could break an official record there too.
