@@drae6984 We don't know Thor actually did lift 501. His dad weighed the plates. It doesn't even have to be a conspiracy. If the scale was just 1% off, thats ~5kg off. And all it has to be to not be a record is just 1kg light. It's crazy to count home gym records as official ones.

@@Kartofka91 Actually Thor's lift is legit and acknowledged according to Strongman's official rules and regulations. In the Strongman archives, which you can access online, Hathor's lift is the official world record. He followed all of the rules and regulations during COVID in order to keep Strongman interesting and alive. He had calibrated weights and an official referee. It's not Hafthor's fault COVID broke out. The records stands. Hafthor wants to break his record and in his words, "to shut his haters up." He was referring to you when he said that. FYI: Eddie didn't really compete, he did the deadlift portion and stopped. That's not really competing now is it?

@travelingwithjeff

This cracks me up, they pull 460-470 and almost pass out, but they are going to suddenly pull 505? Come on, there is only one person that has pulled 500+ and not looked like they were going to die. Thor is the only person right now to have a chance at 505, not saying someone might come along and beat that but not right now. Also, they always hype up the "Deadlift" competitions. This is WSM, do it when you know you have 7 or more events after. Even Eddie who is one of the greatest ever deadlifters did the 500kg in a deadlift comp. You would assume that the athletes would have better pulls knowing they only have one event and can leave everything out there. One last thing, even Hooper who is an amazing athlete couldn't even get past the knees on the 505.

I agree, but competing and doing other heavy events just isn't the same as home lifting all the time you can get and focusing on just one event. People tend to perform differently at a competition vs home. This is why people don't acknowledge Thor's 501 pull. Many people are agreeing that Thor did pull 501, but he had Zero disadvantages that comes to pulling in a competitions especially since there are multiple other events that can injure you and affect your later performance. So in order to be on the same footing as the rest of them, they want Thor to pull 501 or 505 at a competition so there is nothing left to question. Now I have my own biases towards the whole matter, but you can see why someone might think it wasn't fare, but also give you the way to make it fare aka do the same as the rest do.

He goes ass to the grass, and squats the slack out of the bar with pure leg drive. (Go watch him and keep mind of what I say). I dont see any of these guys doing that.
