Just a suggestion on throwing your gut pockets out when they’re frozen. Honestly, one of the things that has worked for me is when I have had the frozen bait and it not be completely thawed. Put it on my hook throw it out and as the bait starts to thaw, the gut pocket will release sent, and I’ve had a lot of success that way. But like you say, it’s really a preference.

I used to fish the opening of the salt creek in muldraugh KY as it dumped into the Ohio, you could see Indiana from there, but had to fish the KY side while at Ft. Knox. The bridge under 31W is fished A LOT but it has some decent cats.

So last year i bought an old beat up bass boat with a classic 50 mercury mostly catfish but i don't imagine the fish care much what kind of boat it is. After finally getting the motor running well and a trolling motor on it my wife walks in when you say you don't need a boat to catch decent fish... thanks man lol

I have a boat but sometimes rather be in the bank. I’ve caught my biggest catfish on the bank at 40 pounds. You can definitely have a good time on the bank especially with that rod holder you made. You could sell those, it’s nice.

I also use a 15 lb dropper on my sliding sinker on my rocky bank. Weights aren’t cheap but I’d rather sacrifice it than the whole rig.
