Brings back memories. I was a child, my parents had a 64. In my early 20’s I relived my childhood. Buying a 64, light metallic blue , just like the one my parents had. Time stamp 3:25/ be careful when using tarry cloth rags when checking the fluids. I used to do it my self, until one day I noticed that fibers were left on the dip stick. And I almost inserted back in the holder. Motor contamination from the lose filters will take its toll on a engine block over time. Mechanic rags or T-shirt is better.

Point of story he sold it to cheep :( man if he had that car still would be at less 24k or more car was that clean . Now a days guys be asking so much for a rust bucket . Dad owned over 50 impalas !!;) and other Chevys not a rich man but got good deals back in the day went that weren't so iconically representing culture and lifestyle even though it is a lifestyle car it wasn't on t-shirts or on any things people can make money off of other people just exposing the car my dad knows one of the original people who started streetlow magazine so yeah there's always been magazines but this was a time before everyone had a smartphone around the time of the flip phone but man that car was so sweet I would seriously would have loved if you would have kept it and kept it to this day but I was there when he sold it and we knew what what we're doing halfway through the process I was like I might just tell my dad don't sell the car so another since I messed up by not saying that I knew if I would had told not to sell the car he wouldn't have

Really is the BEST way to clear your head, was my favorite way to clear my head even when I had my 72. Looked like crap, had problems left and right, but the damn thing started and ran at the end of the day. Even how bad the body condition was, still had people stopping just to ask me about it and admire the car for what it was. When others admire something that "YOU" built on your own it's a huge reward in itself. Wrenching on a classic and driving it is the best meditation in my opinion, only speaking from experience. Great job on your 63! 👍

Back in the early 70s my old landlord had a red 63 or 64 Impala, garaged from brand new. Our driveway was so freakin tight you could barely slip a credit card in between a car,the house and the fence when you pulled out or in! Yet he never got so much as a scratch on her year after year of navigating that insanely tight driveway, thankfully. I think it was an SS but beyond that, my childs memory of the time was only snippets, so details aren't as sharp as I'd like them to be. I wonder what happened to that precious beauty, because it rarely got driven,he took impeccable care of his baby and being pampered and garaged all of its life back then, man, hopefully whoever got ahold of her kept her in that same pristine condition. Speaking of which, she's definitely a classy beauty you have here too. Sounds like he put in a ton of labor and love to get her to where she is today.its great to have the family helping and becoming a part of the history of the old gal, along with the wrenching and positive influences she had on y'all unintentionally. It truly is amazing what a car can mean to a person and a family and the impact it may have in so many ways upon them. Some may think a car is just a car,a big hunk of metal and just a people and stuff conveyance device that gets you hopefully from point A to point B. Then there's us,the car people, the ones who have oil and gasoline pumping through their veins, the ones with a touch of grease and dirt beneath our finger nails, the ones who see a vehicle as one of the family. I salute all of our extended family, who feels that same precious way. Thanks again guys! ▪☆☆☆▪
