Just watched your video and it brings back a lot of memories. I marched at Angela Taylor's funeral, and I went through the academy and graduated with Steve, lovely guy. Incidentally, his squad leader was Des Campbell who was convicted of murder for pushing his wife off a cliff in 2005.

Great vid Paul! Did you know there was also a TV mini series released in 2010 called “Killing Time” that focused on the lawyer of the Walsh St killers Andrew Fletcher. David Wenham played the main role with some other big names like Colin Friels and John Wood also in it. Definitely worth checking out if you can find it.

I have heard of the Walsh street murder but was never able to piece together what exactly had happened! What perhaps was the ultimate disappointment was to see the grave of Steven Tynan almost forgotten... Thanks for doing this video!

@@tombeck1872 It's widely known that the firearm was planted on Jensen after he was shot dead. The reason given for those present not speaking up about this is because both criminals and Police feared the Armed Robbery Squad, who were well known executioners. (One example is the killing of Gary Abdallah just before this. He is on camera telling his lawyer that he'd heard he was gonna "get knocked" by them.)

Two officers present at the killing said years later it was planted. Reason given for not speaking up at the time is because they were scared shitless of the Armed Robbery Squad.

I'd assume that if Victor was convicted for the murders of both officers, he would spend the rest of his life in gaol. So in some sense, him being acquitted of those crimes allowed him to be vulnerable during Melbourne's gangland wars. Ironically Victor himself was gunned down while in car.

What if Jenson and Pierce did not do violent armed hold ups and murders?? Every action has a reaction. If all the violent criminals didn't attack police in the 1980s, maybe on the occasion JENSEN died they may not have been so keen to shoot. The crook lived on the edge and fell off.

When a known armed robber points a gun at police and drives off to avoid arrest, do you expect the police to let him go or shoot them? The word of a twice convicted bent detective and crooked lawyer mate doesn't cut the mustard.

Firstly its not the Police Force, its Victoria Police and secondly its Victoria despite the 'attacks' you refer to happening in Melbourne as Melbourne is both a city and suburb. Be accurate if you want people to watch your videos as much better productions have been produced so make an effort.

@PaulHagl 2 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure Victoria Police is a police force. Also the suburbs that aren't called Melbourne, 9,993 km2 of the metropolitan area are all part of greater Melbourne. This seems a bit nit picky to me but I will take your advise to be more accurate.
