This was an amazing walk-through Dane, plus the guitarist who played this Haggy definitely slayed it with the right vibes!!

WTF? Not a very good video on how to clean a vintage guitar. That polish is not a cleaner, and what was up with those frets? Terrible way to treat a cool guitar!

Hi. i have had a Hagström 1 myself i played it for 50 yers. You know there are a museum in Falun Sweden you can look at. Well that metalplate with waffelpatern you said was cosmetics is wrong. that pitch is called the pool and was to increase the volume from the strings. after i think it was 1967 that pitch was flat out and they glued that alufoile directly on the flat suface. Its not a 1961 because up to 1963 it was called Kent 1. so its a 1964 or 1965 .Oh im an old Swed myself. Hope you found this iteresting .Kj

I just got a 1965 black and white Hagstrom 1, looks just like that, only the pickups are not rounded on the edges, but straight-edge rectangles. QUESTION: When I was rubbing the rust off the pole pieces pressing hard (heavily rusted), I discovered the poles are not one solid piece. The top part you see is a little steel cap that is glued onto the actual pole underneath. Apparently the rubbing alcohol I used to free the rust dissolved the glue. This happened on two pole pieces. I cleaned the old glue off, and put a tiny pinch of super glue (with pressure overnight) to secure the two caps. Have you ever seen pickups made this way, with metal caps fixed on top of each pole? They were magnetized. If you put them upside down, they would repulse, but the correct way, and it they fit right back in place. They work fine, but I'm curious nevertheless if this strange construction is unique to Hagstrom, or are other pickups made like this...

Got a Hagstrom 1 in 1972 after my first guitar, a $50 Harmony with strings way high, and was amazed at the low action of the neck. It cost me $65 and I still have it. I had to replace the tuners & wooden bridge with Shaller replacements in 1972. It has a shrill sound on bridge pickup with tone set high and the mute switch off. But that neck!!!!

Where can I find a tunomatic bridge that measures 2 11/16 or 86.26 MM from post to post? My guitar looks like it has a 63 Goya Eko hagstrom tremolo set up. The neck broke at the headstock and the headstock had a Gibson logo but definitely not a Gibson. All signs point to Japanese guitar. One guy thought it was a 63 Goya Eko hagstrom. I found a custom 63 red Goya Eko hagstrom online with the exact hagstrom tremolo and bridge. I just need the bridge. They told me I can use a Fender neck on it.

There were a ton of these about in the 60s. Especially the bass. I had the bass version of this & later a step up to the wood model. They were not bad little players.

The seventies-82 Hagstrom guitars kill those sixties models. Have a 73 and a 74 Swede, an 80 Super, a blonde Viking from 1975, and two 1972 HiiN OT hard tail.

It looked like there were 2 spacers at the back of the bridge & vibrato assembly. It didn't look like you put them back when you put it back on. Just a heads up.🙂

These Hagstrom guitars have a very cool factor. Love them. I use the same metal polish cream on my frets and wipe off all the oxidation on them with a clean rag. It's one of the first things I do to a new guitar. You'd be surprised how much black oxidation comes off of them.

Not sure what you mean on the slotted vs Philips head screws, as far as my knowledge goes Philips head screws were invented in the early 1900s and Leo was using them in the 50s on fenders. Is it just a hagstrom thing?
