Mirchi Bhajji chaat
Portions serving: 5 pax

Calories: 139 cal per portion
Ingredients:
Bhajji Mirchi 12-15 pcs
Fried corn flakes 1 cup
Peanuts fried ¼ cup
Poha chivda ½ cup
Puffed rice 1 cup
Namkeen mix ½ cup
Besan 1 ½ cup
Salt ½ tbsp
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Red chilli powder ½ tsp
Baking soda a pinch
Ajwain ½ tsp
Water as required
Chaat masala ½ tsp
Green chilli chopped ½ tsp
Onion chopped ½ cup
Salt a pinch
Red chilli powder ½ tsp
Roasted jeera powder ½ tsp
Tomato chopped ½ cup
Lemon juice ½ tbsp
Green chutney 3-4 tbsp
Methi chutney 2 tbsp
Method:
Begin by selecting light green chillies and slicing them vertically.
Simultaneously, prepare a mix of 1/2 cup fried cornflakes (either store-bought or homemade), 1/2 cup fried peanuts, 1/2 cup poha chivda, 1 cup puffed rice, and any salted mixture of your choice.
For the batter, combine gram flour with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 cup red chilli powder, a pinch of baking soda, and Ajwain.
Gradually add water to achieve a thick, lump-free consistency.
Dust the chillies with gram flour to ensure the batter adheres properly.
Deep-fry the gram flour-coated chillies in hot oil until they turn crispy.
Once done, cut them into smaller pieces while still hot.
Now, prepare the chaat mixture by seasoning the chopped mirchi bhajiya with salt, chaat masala, finely chopped green chillies, and onions. Add the crunchy elements layer by layer-start with puffed rice, followed by poha chivda and the salted namkeen mixture.
Introduce fried peanuts and cornflakes as additional toppings.
Despite the inherent saltiness, a pinch of salt is recommended for enhanced taste.
Sprinkle red chilli powder, roasted jeera powder, and chopped coriander, and mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly.
To add a refreshing twist, include chopped tomatoes, a squeeze of lemon juice, tangy green chutney, and sweet imli ki chutney.
Mix these ingredients, making sure every component is well incorporated.
It's crucial to note that this chaat is best enjoyed immediately, as storing it for later may compromise its texture.
Finish off the chaat by crowning it with nylon sev, which adds a final touch of crispiness.
This Mirchi Bhajiya Chaat is a delightful blend of textures and flavours, ranging from the fiery kick of the chillies to the crunchiness of the fried elements and the medley of spices and chutneys.
The result is a mouthwatering chaat that promises to satisfy your cravings for a spicy and tangy treat.
