Just complementing something Suraj said: Yes, Daichi receiving Oikawa's first serve was a huge momentum builder, and a huge psychological play, and there was even more to it than that. When they showed the coin toss scene, the captain that wins decides which team starts serving and which team starts receiving, and one of Aoba Johsai's biggest strengths is their serve, specially because of Oikawa, so it was really important for Karasuno to win, and remove the first serve from them. Yet, Daichi won the coin toss, gave a smurk to Oikawa, and stated that Karasuno would start receiving, giving the first serve to Oikawa. THAT was a huge psychological blow, he was pretty much saying: "Give us your best shot, it won't be enough."

Only thing I would maybe slightly disagree on is typically in volleyball you want to receive first, not serve. The receiving team has a better chance to score than the serving team, regardless of how good the server is.

Aww, they didn’t catch the great character moment of “I believe in you/we believe in you, captain”. I understand it’s the Normies’ first time and it’s harder with so many people talking, but I remembered that moment from season one during my first watch through of this match and thought it was a nice call back whilst showing a change of dynamics and hinting at growth for everyone in Seijoh. Almost had a sense of finality to it. Also, Oikawa’s serve - in or out - would rattle any opposing team to their core. The countless hours and sheer amount of work put in to have that power and (relative) control… insanity. With the ending of the episode, we finally have our full look at Aoba Johsai 1.5 vs Karasuno 2.0. Get ready for THE rollercoaster of the show. My personal favorite match.

I know Oikawa and Daichi are amazingn and incredible but can we acknowledge my baby Tsukki’s plays? He saved that ball so amazingly for Hinata. Kindaichi blocking Hinata has been a scarring moment for Hinata from season 1 and he was about to relive the same crushing moment if it weren’t for Tsukki’s save. And the way he also read Seijoh’s strategy and stayed and read their attack before blocking them impeccably. Ughh thats my boy. I can go on and on about him. ♥️

ok, you should have look up scoring in volleyball by now: match goes to 2 won sets advantage. So there can be a total of 5 sets in one match. A set is to 25 points and a lead of 2 points. Meaning if it's 24:24 then one side has to score 2 points to both be over 25 and have 2 more points then the opponent. The 5th set is differs in that it is only played to 15 points base
