The best part for me about this episode is that when they're thinking about all the things they feel they could've done better, their preparation might have been perfect and they would still feel that regret. You always second guess yourself after the fact, even when in the moment you had really done the best you could.

I like how the "they're serious" line, talks well about both teams, they're not just saying they're a serious opponent for Karasuno but also that the Karasuno isn't cocky nor rude to even their rivals, bc they don't get overconfident bc they're way ahead of the other team, they don't assume they already won, they keep fighting, they keep thinking they can lose so they care about every single point, they're serious about it. Some teams can stop caring and putting effort on it bc they think there's no way they can lose once there, and sometimes those teams lose bc of that. And that attitude, not even taking your rivals seriously and not putting effort on the game bc you're like "I already won, this is not worth it" while playing with them, it's so shitty and rude, you have to maintain that respect, and it's amazing to see our boys do it and that they work so hard to get their name again, to keep playing, to have more matches, bc they're good but they have fallen before and they're not letting that happen again.

This episode focused on Ikejiri, Nishimiya, and the other losing teams, and also marked Hinata's first official victory. Like Daichi, Ikejiri, and Nishimiya, Hinata was the only one in middle school who really tried hard until the end, so I was very moved by it.

It’s almost impossible to come back if the other team is close to match point and you’re still at 16. You’d need to play absolutely optimal volleyball for 10 straight points. This show does a great job of showing how even teams that lose badly STILL try. They still want to compete and be seen as formidable. This show is so damn good at showing the anguish after competition. I watched this show about 4 months ago and it inspired me so much lmao now I train jiu jitsu and work out whatever muscles are there lol.
