@@caseydominick7806 The Coen Brothers made it, and the cast is a bunch of seasoned pros. The sequences are fun-- very diverse. It's kind of a tribute to 1950s Hollywood, warts and all. Lots of satire and poking gentle fun at icons of the time (Carmen Miranda, gossip columnists, big stars, ingenues, etc). Not just a cool story but a pleasure to look at and listen to. Highly recommended.

Best compliment I can pay to Tatum is that, despite having been watching him in various films for easily 10-15 years, I've only embarrassingly recently realised that he's the same bloke that I've appreciated in so many of them. Yes, his face changes enormously depending on his weight, but I'm normally queen of working out where I've seen someone before despite tweaks to appearance. He's relentlessly watchable, and this scene absolutely underlines why.

It didn't just have potential, it was a really good film. Potential is a spark; this fantastic look at 1950s Hollywood was a delicious mix of sequences-- plus, it also included the protagonist's crossroads and the big choice to make regarding a possible new job (essentially: happiness vs. mere success). @marqsee7948
@marqsee7948 2 жыл бұрын
Good question, questions are rarely illogical, but uninformed answers can be. I'll venture that in the 1940's, tablecloths were used to cover unsightly table tops. Being decorative, they were probably expensive to bars in wartime. Plus, it was a gimmick occasionally used in contemporary films with dance sequences.

Yeah, I know what you mean and up until now Grand chorus numbers in musicals were absolutely logical but one has only to think back to the last time we were spontaneously swept up into a tap/kick line and recall that OF COURSE logic dictates that table cloth are always kept in place in real life when there is a spontaneous finale.

Its a fun visual gag with the dancing that shows off the skill of the performers. Its a musical number, logic is not a priority over flair. Complaining about dance moves in a dance number making narrative logical sense is like complaining about weird scenes in dream sequences. A fundamental misunderstanding of the priorities and goals of the scene in question.

Eric packed a grip and set off for the West coast, stars in his eyes, and a song in his heart. But the City of Angeles can be rough on a kid, particularly one with a hint of arrogance, and Eric here had it in spades. Lady luck can be fickle, but sometimes that dame is just down right evil, and when you dance with the devil often enough, yous gonna git burned. Well Eric got full on set on fire! When Hollyweird rejected his lazy overdone hackneyed clichéd filled choreography, Eric found himself broke on the da streets wondering where it all went wrong. "I'm only go do this just once" he said in the bathroom stall on his knees. "Just to earn bus fair back home where's I'll git a job at the factory and finally marry Jenny. If she'll still have me that is." That was six years ago. Now he can't go home. Just another sad tale of LA gone wrong in the Golden Age of movies.
