Easy means...easy. A relaxed pace. Also, not sure where the above schedule comes from but here is one directly from Haile, from some of his summer "base training: Monday: 1. Fartlek training on rolling hills 60min/17km -- (3:31.8/km, 5:40.7/mile pace) 2. Recovery session 50min/12km -- (4:10/km, 6:42.3/mile pace) Daily Total = 29km / 18.02miles Tuesday: 1. Base endurance 70min/18km -- (3:53.3/km, 6:15.4/mile pace) 2. Easy run 10km + speed session 10x100m Daily Total = 29km / 18.02miles

6:00 flat pace is definitely easy for Haile. Haile has talked about how he can't run slower than 6:30 pace b/c it feels to slow and awkward. When you can run 4:43 pace for over 2 hours...6 minute pace is light jogging.
@YesFootball579Ай бұрын
4.43 pace per mile or km?

Haile does plenty of light mileage at mid to high 6 paces. That is definitely recovery for him. Remember, your dealing with a guy who runs 4:45 pace for 26.2 miles and 4:19 pace for 6.2. 6:45 feels a bit different for him that the "chump" running 15-16 minutes for 5k.

Hi,in my opinion,any pair of well fitting running shoes will do,won an 800mt track race two months back,but if you need a particular brand that's fine.
@dainiusfigoras9 жыл бұрын
IMO there is huge difference when big brand make shoes specially for you (having in mind your foot profile and your desire for shoes) and buying same brand from local shop. But to be fair most of my friends run even less then 50K per week and in that case any shoes is fine.
@romyjugroo45429 жыл бұрын
Dainius Figoras Hi,Ran my first 30k in the 70's.If you think that a particular shoe is what you need,then why not.But in my opinion whether you run 50k or 100k per week,the shoe which works for you has nothing to do with brand,even a cheap sandal or barefoot will do.I have a Vivobarefoot which is nice but,I can do without.
@dainiusfigoras9 жыл бұрын
Agree, and I love to feel ground on which I'm running, so my personal choice is shoes that let you feel ground, but protects from rocks, glasses etc.
@romyjugroo45429 жыл бұрын
Dainius Figoras Yes,Dainius,feeling the ground adds a lot to the fun of running,from my point of view. My favorite footwear are rubber sandals,slick ones for the road and groovy ones for muddy trails.Did two 10k trail races this year.
@dainiusfigoras9 жыл бұрын
Romy Jugroo Never tried sandals before, maybe you have link to them, it would be interesting to at least see or maybe even try.

"Easy" means something different for an athlete like Haile. I doubt he ever runs much slower than a 6 min/mile pace. Consider that his former wold record marathon time was a sub 4;50 min/mile pace, 6min is a frikkin cake walk.
