@@Mycrosss to be fair, the writing of Jinx's emotional range is much, much wider than Vi's. A good actor can only do so much with the material they're given.

@@DMurdock Although i kinda agree with that, Jinx had like 20 lines in the show altogether. VI on the other hand, even though she's more basic as a character, had way more emotional scenes, like the ending of act 1, where she meets with Powder and realizes what Powder did. That should've been delivered way more emotional, yet Hailee made it seem like it was an everyday unimportant occurence the way she delivered those lines. When Vander dies infront of her, again, very monotone delivery to something that should've shaken her core. When she meets up with Jinx again. So many emotional scenes revolving around VI, yet she ends up looking like the most underwhelming character, and I really do think it's because of the voice acting. It's just ok, while all the other voice actors did an AMAZING job. Powder's VA on that act 1 scene that I mentioned was just beyond amazing in contrast. Ella delivered all Jinx's 20 lines with such emotion too, the bar scene with "Chuck" is some of the best voice acting i've seen, and it's such an unimportant, unemotional scene that could've just been voice acted anyway you want. I don't dislike Hailee, I liked her in Begin Again and Pitch Perfect, but she might be getting a bit more overhyped, as an actress she's just ok, as a voice actress she's just barely good enough not to take away from a show. And i feel that's mostly due to Riot's team, if they took a random person off the street they could make him voice act on a profesional level.

@@Mycrosss if you've seen True Grit and Edge of Seventeen, you'd know that she has the range. I think it's in the character writing and direction. There's no scene where Vi actually falls apart. In every emotional scene she's in, she's shelled up, which makes sense given her character. It can't be in the voice acting because it's in the animation and script too. So it was definitely a directorial choice. Steinfeld has no creative control over body language. Though I think Powder outshines both Vi and Jinx. I don't know why people aren't talking about Jenness more.

I don't know if people in the premiere had already watched the complete show the way it came out to us. My guess is they hadn't, and that's the reason so many people were picking Jinx. Jinx is the cool concept - and, sure, it was amazingly performed in the show too. But I mean, she already draws attention from the beginning. Vi, on the other hand, gets more and more to you as you watch - and personally I don't see how one can finish it and not have fallen for her.
