random story, but when you were talking about With the Fire on High, it reminded me of this series I read in elementary school where 5(ish??) middle school girls baked cupcakes ALL THE TIME. it wasnt even just vanilla, it was like those fancy ones you see on baking competitions. so i was 10ish and super inspired by these fancy cupcakes that i nearly burned my kitchen down by throwing shit into a bowl and putting them in the oven at a random temperature for a random time. so i dont read food books anymore lmao

I read an ARC of Romanov and really liked it. But I did think it was a little on the slow side until about halfway through. Not slow enough that I wanted to put it down, but things really picked up at that halfway point and only got more interesting from there. If you're anything like me, reading slumps come when I'm super focused on writing, and vice versa. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I am going through the WORST reading slump right now. I have no clue what’s wrong with me. I basically trudged through the Grisha Trilogy and can’t make myself finish Heartless by Marissa Meyer, even though I think I only have 50 pages left.
