Hailey, if you have not yet read One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid you need to! It has childhood friends to lovers and so much more!!

Oh my gosh, Every Summer After was SO good! I loved it so so much. Well written, super addicting, had this great nostalgic feel, and I think the looming "fallout" really grips you as you want to find out what happened. I'm glad you loved it too!

I personally couldn’t get past what she did. As someone who’s been through it, I just couldn’t bring myself to keep rooting for them and the ending felt rushed and undeserved. He deserved better. Also I hated the female relationships in the book, she was a shitty friend. However, it was VERY well written.

I was kinda underwhelmed by Before the Coffee Gets Cold. I agree that the stories on their own were interesting but I found that as a collection, they felt so repetitive with the time travel being explained in excruciating detail every time. I really loved Every Summer After though! A great book similar to Daisy Jone and the Six is The Final Revival of Opal and Nev by Dawnie Walton. It has the similar interview style but touches on more societal issues of the time!

I just wish people would stop reading Where the crawdads sing and stop supporting the author. It's not like she said something bad on Twitter, she's literally complicit in a murder

I read BTCGC this month (and am planning on reading the sequel in the next couple of days) but yeah, I kinda agree. The book was missing something for me, and my favorite story was Mother and Child. I can't pinpoint what was missing, but I still had a good time reading it! WTCS was such a tough book to read. I hated the dialect, I hated the time jumps, I literally didn't care until the court case. I hated the ending... like it was just such a blah book for me - I don't understand the hype. Plus, apparently the author is SUPER sketchy and not a great person but idk much about that🤷

Before the Coffee Gets Cold and My Year of Rest and Relaxation are both on my TBR. They sound very interesting and my kind of reads, which is why I want to read them. I have read Malibu Rising and my apologies, but I disagree with you. I thought it was bad. I don't use that term lightly when talking about books, like sure I may not have enjoyed them but I don't usually see any book as straight up bad. But in this case, it was. It gave me nothing, and I am not planning on reading her next work because again, it sounds bad. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a favourite of mine so I'll still keep an eye on her as an author, but this book book wasn't it for me and I have no interest in her most recent release.

Gosh, I hated My Year of Rest and Relaxation. It was so pointless and self-indulgent. But clearly I am missing something because everyone else in the world seemed to enjoy it.

You need to stop blaming translators whenever you just don't like a book. We (and by we I mean most translators who understand the job description) don't add anything that isn't already in the book. If you didn't like the style of narration, just say so and don't use the translator as a crutch.

For TJR, I would look up some people online speaking about how she writes latinx characters and stories just for a more rounded view of her and her books. In the past she's apologized for writing a latinx character poorly and said she wouldn't do it again, then did it again in Carrie Soto, and the latinx community online is not pleased. Just as a heads up if you wanted to have another thought on how much you want to promote her on your channel!
