The thing everyone is missing is the trust that the ladies have in PTA to make their videos. You can't imagine how difficult it can be to shoot a commercial, music video, shoot an interview with pop stars, especially female and not have their publicist, manager, agent waiting in the wings to make sure their client doesn't look perfect, made up, glam. The ladies look very "real" in the video, a lot of unflattering lighting here, and their performances are a bit unhinged, which is wonderful, suits the songs and the lyrics perfectly. What you're seeing here are artists who have complete and utter trust in their own vision and the vision of their collaborator. That's how you make art. Brilliant. This looks like a PTA feature film, not a "music video" and we are all better for it.

Great songwriting. Capturing the absolute futility of relationships and how ultimately everyone is too self-interested and narcissistic to ever really have a meaningful connection with anyone so we retreat into the creature comforts of materialism, shallow friendships, casual sex and blaming other people for our own lack of self-control and failures thus remaining inconsolably depressed and painfully lonely.

I seem to see that as being the theme each song on the artist seems to be inspired by a certain female in music history . So far I've heard similarities to sheryl crow , Stevie Nicks , and joni Mitchell

Simple. A woman writing a song about a man who didnt understand her. She gave him so much. And yet he meant so much to her that she wrote a song about him. She took the steps to make the relationship work and yet he never tried. Danielle is a master at writing and breaking down simple feelings.
