Wash your scalp and apply at least some hair oil to your scalp. The scalp has to stay moisturized to reduce the itchy sensation

Get a gel that works for your hair and take it with everytime you go do your hair… I love the native child gel/edge trimmer, it’s an oil based gel so it doesn’t leave the scalp dry

Definitely wash it,i also have issues with gel they use at the salon. The ones I found okay was the green soft n free gel or blue isoplus gel. So I just brought my own when I braided.

You can wash your head without removing the braids. You will need to let it dry for longer. It makes a huge difference.

I have itchy scalp ,hair gel makes it worse. So my braids don't last. I will send you a picture of the spray that helps a bit with the itching
