I made 2 reusable acrylic swiffer covers for my daughter in law. It worked amazingly well. I was so surprised when it really did work like a magnet drawing in cat/ dog hair. My daughter in law likes it

THANK YOU!!! I have been looking every where for what is best for the dry sweeping swiffer for hair specifically. Yours is the only video that was definitive, AND looks great. We have porcelain floors in our bathroom and the hair situation is just awful, it doesn't sweep up well and mopping just pushes it around so I thought a swiffer would be best, but why buy when I can make lol. Again thank you so much for actually saying the difference as well and even posting in the title. I'll be making it tonight!

Sara, I made this and it's fantastic. I have alot of wood flooring.I did have to add 4 more rows- my Swiffer is about 8 years old.

Awsome' im about to take up carpet and redo wood floors. With my bad back this be so easy to kerp floor clean with out over working my back. Csrpet just holds to much dirt and allergins anymoore...ty sara

I just made one in 40 percent cotton and 60 acrylic and the velcro on the swiffer made a huge pull inside already.

You can use hdc if you like, just measure as you go as your stitches will be shorter.

Out of curiosity wouldn't the yarn stretch out a bit after washing it, and should I use the yarn used for making dish cloths, as far as using it to pick up wet messes. I understand the soft yarn would be used to pick up pet hair, dust etc.what are your recommendation?

I haven't has any issues with it stretching out. I just toss it in with my towels when I was it. Acrylic For dry mopping, Cotton for wet mopping.

How can I stop my chain from curling, yours looks great and straight?? Is it the yarn?? I'm using Redheart, it looks like you're using I love this Yarn.

Kim Fowler if your chain is curling you are stitching your chain too tightly. You might try stitching your beginning chain with a bigger hook.

You may crochet tighter then I do, you can go up a hook size or too. But also measure as you work, and if needed ad more rows.

I just started mine, the stitches are easy but I wish I knew which stitch you started in going in the back loop only....was it the second one from the chain or in the one on the chain/ the very first one? If anyone could help out asap that would be wonderful :)

Jeanna Mancini if you go up to the 3 dots on the right side of screen, click. The last option is speed. You can slow down to 25% . It super slow. You should be able to follow. It helped me a lot .
