Hey Michael, I recently discovered your videos and I must say, they are exceptional. I was particularly moved by your video on hair loss. As someone who experienced hair loss in their 20s and is now in their 60s, It still bothers you to this day. I remember being optimistic that a cure for baldness would be found by the time I turned 40, but sadly, that didn't happen. The only solution I found was Minoxidil, which only grew peach fuzz. However, your video reminds me that there is more to life than just our physical appearance. You come across as a great guy and I'm sure you have many loved ones who appreciate you for who you are. Similarly, I had supportive people in my life, which made a big difference. Thank you for sharing your video.

I'll add timestamps in the comment section by the end of the day, so if you ever need to come back to the video and find something easily you can. Thanks for viewing the video!

@@SquatSimp No I didn’t, I had it in one of the best hair clinics in Spain. Nothing wrong with Turkey I just knew a very good clinic in Spain. I was a grade 6 and I only had one chance to get my hair back, so didn’t want to risk going somewhere I didn’t know. I am getting amazing results! I’m so happy. First surgery 3100 graphs and on the second about 2500. I will have the second one in March.

Hope it grows in well brother. I’m headed for the same fate in my 20s but waiting out for better meds to come out or to get on a waiting list for a good clinic. Like the other comment said, I would prioritize finding a medication plan or at least try some topicals to preserve the hair. If you search low density transplant combined with scalp pigmentation there are some decent buzz cut results with the illusion of density, might be an option to consider.

Hi Michael, based on the post-picture at 12:56 and having been through two FUE hair transplants myself, I must say, the density behind the hairline may disappoint you. Especially the grafts near the crown area will not show since they are too wide apart. The good thing in you case is the hairline (assuming the angles are OK). For coverage, you can always slick the hair to the back when they are fully grown but seems like you will have to go for another OP for density. Hope it turns out well :)

I agree with your assessment. I was very disappointed when we "agreed" on the original plan and then I looked at my hair and saw that they just went ahead and changed the plan anyways

Thank you 🙏 This is a difficult question for me to answer... It is not my intention to keep secrets (and therefore it will probably be revealed with due time), but I do not want the specific clinic to be the focus of the video. I am worried if I say the name of the clinic people will only read that, and try to schedule an appointment with them. However, if I had to summarize the video it would be that: this was my experience, less than ideal, but you can probably do better. Hopefully that makes sense and you aren't disappointed with my answer. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions or remarks.

The doctor was right .The clinic is a scam . Basically your baldness is so advanced that to make your hair look decent you need at least 5500-6000 grafts . Thats why the doctor was insisting to do only the front with those 3500 grafts now and after 4 or so months get the remaining scalp and beard grafts to do the back . And its crucial that the transplants goes in this order because if you do 2 or more transplants all over your head you lose tons of native hair due to shock loss . This is a standard practice done by reputable clinics for patients who need large transplants . The problem is you havent communicated in prior with the doctor at all instead you've only talked with general employees whose only goal is to get as much money from you as they can and probably you have strongly stated to them that you arent willing to spend more than $2.5k so they had to come to terms with this ridiculously low amount of grafts out of fear of losing a client . You should have at least asked for a consultation with the lead doctor before getting into this ridiculous situation

Shock loss to the native hair means your non-transplanted hair never grows back? That’s insane.. I am almost 30 and my hair looks decent but I’ll clearly have issues in my late 30s. But if im going to lose all my non transplanted hair that makes no sense

@SquatSimp
@SquatSimp 10 ай бұрын
Nice! What country do you currently reside in? The blood you honestly don't see much of (assuming you aren't recording it like I did). Anesthetic was a 9/10 pain level, but the surgery was a 0 (you felt their hands but it didn't hurt in at all). Post-op was pain free for me as well. If you can get past the anesthetic, the worse of the pain is over.

Do you think weight-lifting accelerated your hairloss? Many lifters seem to be balding.
@bryantgomez6643
@bryantgomez6643 9 ай бұрын
Excessive testosterone and creatine use have been linked to accelerating mpb if you’re already predisposed. I believe taking fin should counter said effects
@SquatSimp
@SquatSimp 7 ай бұрын
Creatine has not been proven to cause hairloss as Bryant claims. I do think there is a good possibility that lifting weights accelerated my hair loss through promoting higher levels of anabolic (and by association androgenic) hormones. It is worth mentioning however that my father did not lift weights and went bald in his mid-twenties too. Even if lifting weights does accelerate it, I would follow the same path. Lifting has afforded me more confidence, lessons, and opportunities than I could ask for, so if it came down to lifting or hair I would choose liftiing every time without hesitation. Hope this helps Simon

Fantastic question! 1. I take Biotin and UC-II daily with a well-balanced diet. 2. I wash my hair twice a week (shampoo) and conditioner a little more frequently than that. Versus what I used to do up to college grade, which was shampooing every day because I didn't know any better. 3. I use shampoo and conditioner with minimal ingredients that are specifically designed for thickening and preserving hair. Not just a generic off-the-shelf smell good shampoo. 4. I keep my daily levels of stress much lower than what they were in high school and college. Mainly by just managing my stress better through scheduling, and not giving little things too much importance in my life. 5. I hardly drink alcohol anymore, and if I do, I'm not drinking with the purpose of getting a buzz. 6. I make sleep a priority. 7. I don't use hair gels or pomades any more. 8. I tried minoxidil and finasteride for a year without any success. Minoxidil really did me dirty, but finasteride helped a little to maintain what was left over. I have since stopped both of these treatments because of my poor experience with them. I made a video on this alone which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ-ZpneuaaytiJo&ab_channel=MichaelCarnahan These are the first couple that come to mine, and a lot of them I do for more than one reason. Do you have any additional tips you think I should try out?
@ArganRyan
@ArganRyan 10 ай бұрын
@@SquatSimp If you're so genetically predisposed to balding that you're 60% bald by 24 WITH medication, you're going to have a bad time with no medication going forward. I'm 41, just came back from Turkey where I saw dozens of guys in the street with diffuse, intact hairlines, and nothing behind. I'm not a doctor, just a fellow sufferer putting in the research hours behind a keyboard. You need something to stop the DHT, at a minimum. Maybe dutasteride is what's required to push back on the genes. Otherwise, you might think of a laser light cap and microneedling, do daily massage - look at 'The Ordinary' hair density serum as well - but I think any doctor will let you know that with a strong genetic disposition, you really need something to stop DHT from collecting up there. You're just slowing the inevitable otherwise, and no amount of donor hair can sufficiently cover a totally bald scalp.

Why would you go all the way to Turkey for this? Is it really that much cheaper?
@SquatSimp
@SquatSimp 10 ай бұрын
Yep, that is exactly the reason. A hair transplant in Turkey probably averages between $2000-4000, whereas in the USA it would be impossible to pay that much. The reason being that cost of living is higher in the US and therefore the doctors need to be compensated accordingly. An equivalent surgery in the US would probably cost between $15,000-$30,000 and that's assuming you can find a surgeon whose willing to do an operation that large. Doctors in the US prefer to perform much smaller operations at a time (500-2000 grafts) from what I've seen online.
