Box color and chemicals ARE always risky! The cuticle is open so a temporary color would coat the hair and add shine. You want to deposit color NOT remove color that's not there due to hair that's already bleached. Nice and Easy isn't the problem......being drunk and trying to dye bleached hair is the issue.

Nice N Easy is a permanent hair color. After the first coloring session you could see how her roots were a richer copper (where the dye colored the regrowth) and the length of her hair which was bleached was a pale patchy result because there was not much pigment left in the length of her hair for the dye to enhance. WHY would she even use a permanent color on bleached hair? She could have used a semi permanent direct dye like Manic Panic, Arctic Fox or something like that to get a great rich orange color. There was no need to lift her hair which was already bleached. Then she blames the product. No girl.... you chose the wrong product. It's your mistake. Edited to add... then she blames the product for making her hair fried looking... um it was already fried looking before she dyed it.

To be fair, the platinum blonde is alright, but I don't think it does all that much for her. The hollow copper look was not great, but I still think it was (overall) better for her skintone. But yeah, I've had to help friends following dye mess ups.

Those Nice'n'Easy colours are high lift permanent. They're 30/40 vol. Typically depending on the colour. She should have just gone for a clairol semi permanent. They do the exact same colours as in their permanent range.

Makes her skin tone very red... I'm a natural red head and as I have gotten older, my hair has faded from my dark auburn to strawberry.... It makes me look washed out and strangely pink in my skin tone. Hard to describe. I keep it the same color as it was when I was a child. 😂 I remember despising my color when I was young. it's not the product...it's her hair. It's bleached so much it won't hold pigments any longer. Even the color she got at the end will fade quickly. I know this problem from myself when I slowly went from platin blond back to brown. It takes a lot of time and care and even then, the color won't look rich and vibrant for long. It must grow out.

Yep, same here. I had porous blonde hair and dyed it red. I knew ahead of time it wouldn't be perfect. I didn't use a box dye though. I didn't mind the color , but i also got a haircut and kept getting trims I used a shampoo with red color in it to. You're right you just have to let it grow and cut it off.

I'd love tips on blending in the already transparent hair with the still-pigmented hair. My brown hair still turns a pretty auburn when I color it, but the transparent hair turns bright copper!

My MIL just goes to her hairdresser for tiny foil highlights to blend her greys with her natural colour. It looks fantastic and she only goes once every 4-5 months or so. Takes a while because the highlights are SO finely woven throughout her hair, but it really works well.

I'm not hair Budda but I am a hairdresser and can offer some advice :) if you want to do some gray blending (which can make your Gray's look like highlights) you can use a sheer coverage color like a demi permanent/toner! Texture wise my best advice is to make sure you're using the proper shampoo and conditioner for your hair, drugs store shampoos tend to leave buildups and leave the hair not feeling it's best and the average person doesn't really realize but as a pro I can tell who does and who doesn't use quality shampoo and conditioner just by the looks and feel of their hair. Rusk makes a nice blow-dry lotion it's just called "Rusk Str8" and it's nice to use with a ceramic round brush to help smooth down the hair, and I definitely recommend a good flat iron (titanium plates for sure) for coarse hair, mine is coarse and curly and ceramic and tourmaline just don't cut it for me. If your gray hair is white and you like to use a bit of heat on it, a good flat iron spray is a must because heat will turn your beautiful white hair yellow. If you have any specific questions you can comment me back and I'll do my best to answer but it's hard to know without seeing your hair. I hope this helps a little at least 💕

I googled the box dye and yes, the light box dye colors like 8 and higher blonde color will have a 30 volume developer. The 10-12 shades may even have 40 volume developer because it is for darker hair like he says. Dark box dye will have 20 volume developer. The red box dye is probably hard to know but if you really really read everything on the box I know you can find the volume in the box dye. Even check on the bottle if it’s engraved somewhere

I went from blonde as seen in my pic to a Scarlet red a few days ago. Loving it 🥰💯 turned out SO well. I've had so many compliments from strangers ☺️ May have to keep this color for a while. Now when I want to change, yes I know it will be a process. I've been blue, orange, jet box dye black, had henna in my hair for months... You name it I've done it 😂 and got to blonde again after with time and patience and the right products 😉 because yes it takes longer than a day and a single process but it can be done with time. Sometimes I'll go for a medium/dark blonde and work my way down lighter over several months. Hair is fun to play with and change up. I've been dying mine at home since 12... So 20 years now 🫣😂

I use Schwarzkopf Live Ultra Violet and it works great for me. However, it's a colour that is dark and intended for brown hair. My hairdresser complimented my colour when I last went. But I've never bleached my hair.

Those little caps on the Nice ‘n’ Easy bottle are meant to be twisted off, not pulled off or bitten off. Very easy to twist the cap off. I know, because I always use the Nice ‘n’ Easy kit to do my hair. Works every time, if done right and pick the right kit for your hair.

I used reds from that brand for a couple of years and liked them a lot. I used a bright red and wine red. My dark blonde hair was like a firetruck. It also kept pretty well. I only stopped because my hair was so long and thick it was really expensive to keep it red. I needed multiple boxes and then used a tube those pigmented conditioners meant for red hair in 2 washes and then had to re-colour it every two or three months because of roots showing badly.

Nice N Easy isn't necessarily a "shit product," I mean, she couldn't even open the bottle. It simply snaps off. Anything, just about ANY box dye on bleached hair will probably not turn out like the photo on the box. Most box dyes use 20 volume developer, the high lift blonde box dyes use 30. Bleached hair is empty, it's been blasted open. You need to add filler or something to fix that. Lesson is, don't get drunk, try to totally change your hair color when your hair is already compromised and damaged, and then blame product.

Decided to make my own hair a gingery coppery red soon, but I’m also a former stylist and can get the proper equipment and do it correctly. Let this be a lesson to not drink and dye, lol. Her hair was also QUITE damaged already at the beginning before she dyed it this new colour, so it won’t be able to hold the pigment well, anyway. She should just cut her losses and let it grow out so she can cut the unhealthy bits off and THEN dye it (or go to a stylist) properly.

To be fair, on that box (because I've looked at it myself 👀), on the side it will have 5 or 6 different pics with all hair colors and what you can expect. So I know it told her it would work. The boxes are very deceiving.

As someone who has used Schwarzkopf live colours when i was younger, i can say that most the time they don't come out that good. And they wash out so quick (and my hair takes dye really well from past experience). The only one which usually turned out well for me was the neonish pink dye, but the others (especially the teal) flopped hard

Blaming someone, anyone else for bad decisions after literally bragging about consuming volumes of alcohol and coloring your hair .... that speaks volumes about her mindset. I was wondering. If you have frazzled hair, after dying your hair, can you use Olive Oil on your hair, let it set a bit, then wash it out? Olive Oil is so good for you, maybe it would help your hair too.

I use that dye when I wanna fill in my white hair to my natural red and there is no bleach in that product . As far as burning or stinging she either just bleached that blond or she has scrapes on her scalp from nails or brush ? Don't blame the damage of you bleaching to blond on my red please.

nice and easy are, in my opinon, one of the worst for damaging hair, they do have bleach in, who knows what strength :(
