BRAD you should create your own box dye. Most people buy box dye because they don't want to buy the developer and color and moisturizer separately.. soooo why don't you create your own box/bundle dye and you can have different level developers in them. So people can just pick the bundle that they need for their hair and it won't have all the harsh chemicals the box dyes have. It can be filled with your colors! You can even have a bleaching step in them which box dyes do not offer. Just a thought.
@BradMondo5 ай бұрын
It's definitely a goal of mine! Trying to figure out how to do it different than every other box dye brand ever has
@MusicIsLifeMD5 ай бұрын
@@BradMondo I think the "best" scenario for this, for having developer choice, is more going to be having the separate pieces available as a bundle price. Would make it a little more tricky in-store, of course. If just a basic box dye, maybe a 25-30v developer with instructions on the back of the box to use a lower/higher volume for lighter/darker shades.

Brad I think a lot of ppl got to box kits because they are intimidated by sooo many options at Sally. Can you do a tutorial on how to read the numbers, points, dashes and letters? Especially the letters. Also which volume # to use depending on your starting hair. And the difference between going over dyed hair vs natural. Also when you need to bleach first.

Hello Brad, you are a lovely,caring young fella. I wish you had been around when I was having my hair disasters!. I’m a 65 yr old gran now and finally have my much desired silver hair, thanks to Mother Nature lol. I’ve got a short pixie cut, colour mostly white silver. I would love to be platinum blonde, but I have many doubts above bleaching my hair. Years ago a hairdresser tried to blend my grey with my waist length dark brown hair, it all snapped of at the grey length, about 3 inches left !. Brad Mondo saved my hair - did a box dye job a few months back that involved trying to put some highlights in for some lighter streaks, and all I could hear was him on repeat in my head warning me to save the roots to last and reminding me that scalp = warm. It turned out pretty alright in the end - for a box kit. That's like, the one takeaway I've learned from these videos. 😂 (I also appreciate that even when people are making mistakes about coloring their hair, you're never cruel to them or belittle them, but you DO point out ways they could do better, even working with box dye, rather than just saying "dont be stupid just go to the salon" which is really sweet, honestly. Need to get me some Xmondo for next time.)

One of the reasons why box dye has always been popular is not everybody can afford to pay to have a professional colour their hair for them. I've been colouring my own hair for decades, and I've had two stylists ask me where I went to get my colour done, and a third asked me to go over exactly what I did when I coloured my hair as she was going to be using box dye to colour the hair of a woman who'd been one of her first clients, but was now housebound. It's not necessarily that all box dyes are bad, although I'm sure that bad ones can be found. It's often more about how one uses the product that makes the difference.
@CuteMindreader5 ай бұрын
Right it’s not hard to understand people buy more than one box at a time. They’re obviously small which is also why it’s cheap. People hate on it to sound rich. I’ve gotten my hair done in a salon the last 2 times yet I’m contemplating doing box dye again since it can work if done right.
@hannajung75125 ай бұрын
you could of course buy the stuff that is in the box in seperate bottles, which would be actually cheaper and would allow to find the perfect combination just for you. The down side of that is that you have to meassure everything yourself, which also means you have to remember how much you need, and the first investment is a lot more because you basically buy enough of everything to be able to colour your hair for 1 year or 2 repeatedly.
@DinkyInky25 ай бұрын
I've never found box dye cheap. When I used to help my sister and best friend/sis dye their hair, they needed four and three boxes respectively(at $11 a kit, and this was well over a couple of decades ago), that was frightful. Sally's used to not sell the pro dye and developer unless you were licensed, only box kits.

It's only big because it has conditioner and shine treatment in it, there is only 1 colour in it so she would have had to buy 2
