You’ll look great! My grandmother had to cut her hair (didn’t have to shave it but it was a big change) and she was nervous, but she actually liked it afterwards. She now talks about getting it cut again because she sort of misses how easy it was. Good luck and keep on going! xx

My chemo was so strong that I was literally just sitting there and pulling the hair right off my head and it didn’t hurt at all probably because the.. cubicles of hair..? They were dead already. After chemo I kept my hair buzzed as a personal choice and it suits me much better. I recently shaved it bald the other night 😂😂

probably because white supremacists and lesbians tend to shave their heads a lot, not saying that you're either of those things I'm just saying society likes to put people into boxes, classifying them by stereotypes and if you're just a straight, not racist person with your head shaved it confuses their simple little minds. Also, its not very common for women to shave their heads unfortunately so you're deviating from social norms, making you socially deviant. I had cancer so I took the plunge and not only got my dream haircut (a pixie!) but then I ended up having to shave it off because it was both falling out and incredibly painful. My fiance did it for me and we recorded it and while it was super depressing as to why I did it, it was such a great feeling and I never want long hair again!

I did the same, made a cute lob and then shaved it all off even if there was a LOT of hair left, the whole process with loosing hair was kinda hard. I kind of know your feelings, I cut it at home horrible short after a really long hair that was already on my butt. The hair dresser had to fix the mess to make it look kind of acceptable. It took me over 8 years to have it as long as I had it then. I guess what make it such a bad experience is the emotional contest around it. The girl on the video did it because they want it a new look. When I did it I want it to lose the last I had of my identity... I was very depressed. I moved to another country and I have been never the person I was on my birth place since then... I has been hard to accept the new person I am now... but on the good side hair grows and It will be as long as before If you want it ... keep there and be strong. You are much more than your looks and that also allow people to appreciate you more for who you really are.

i shaved my head in late 2015, and while i’m growing my hair back, having a shaved head was one of the best experiences ever. it helped me learn to love myself and not hide behind my hair. it was super necessary for me. if you ever want to shave your head, i say go for it!! it is super fun and lets you step outside of your comfort zone in the best way possible :)

I’m so shaving my head when i get older. Last year i finally got a “drastic” haircut; I went from waist length to around the chin length. I’m loving having short hair it makes me feel so good and kinda different because most girls in my school have long hair. Now i can’t wait to the day i shave it. I've always had really long hair (like, to my butt) and in college I chopped it into a pixie cut. I felt like a brand new person and started speaking up in my classes, going to the gym, basically all the things I felt too insecure to do before. A drastic change gives perspective--you aren't your hair, you aren't who you were yesterday, you can change your life at ANY moment. It's scary, but it's such a freeing mentality.

I know that nobody is really going to care but I am going to tell my hair story. When I was in 5th grade(I'm in 8th now), I cut my hair int a bob. I had cut a full inch of healthy hair(not including the terrible dead ends) off of my head. My mom had taken me to the salon and my dad had no clue. When I got home, my dad was sitting with my sister in the living room. I had never cut it dyed my hair before and both of them looked at me like I was a completely different person. I immediately felt how much they hated it. My dad's hair goes past his shoulders and my sister's goes all the way to her knees so I now had the shortest hair in the household. I did not feel welcome so I went to my room and starting texting my friend. I told her that I had made a huge mistake because my family didn't like it(except my mom). She talked to me for the next half hour and made me realize that it was my hair and I cloud do what I wanted to it. We video called and had a two-hour karaoke contest. I wasn't upset anymore. Then it was time for dinner. I was sitting across the room from everyone else(it's still the same today). Nobody said anything. After I finished eating I went to my room and fell asleep. I went to school and almost everyone liked my new hair. I didn't really like the amount of attention I got when it when I did that so I decided to not cut it and let it grow longer. Me and the friend I mentioned earlier had some stupid fight and she wouldn't talk to me anymore(it was probably about something I did to hurt her without even noticing). She had been the only friend I had that wasn't a guy. Because I didn't have her to make me hang out with girls, I started to hang out with all the guys. I had always got along with them better anyway. People started to pick on me for being gay and I never knew why but I didn't let it bother me. I knew it wasn't a bad thing(in the opinion of me and many others but your views may vary). I let my hair grow out (because my parents made me) but people still picked on me. Over time, I realized that they were actually right(kind of). I am a proud, female-to-male pansexual. When I realized this, everything made sense. I decided to cut my hair again(in 8th grade now) I saturated telling y mom that if she didn't make an appointment to get my hair cut, I would cut it myself. I was bluffing but she didn't have to know that. She ended up letting me cut 9-inches off that time and it was slightly longer than a pixie. It felt nice to have short hair but something was still off. I didn't feel like it was short enough and I didn't feel like me. Two months after that cut I ended up coming out to my family (this was a couple months ago). They said they were okay with it (even though it seems like they are having a hard time convincing themselves that it is true). When j told them, my sister finally realized why I had been slowly making my hair shorter and we started getting closer. We had really drifted apart since I had started cutting my hair in 5th grade and I separated myself from the rest of my family(separate meals, study time, and even sleeping times). When I came out, we suddenly got slot closer. When u dyed my hair for the 7th time, she decided to try it as well. Right now, I have cut my hair down to a pixie and it feels great. I eventually want to start getting it cut regularly and keep it short but that all depends on what happens with my parents. My younger sister is supportive of me cutting my hair and my mom doesn't mind but my dad id if a very different opinion. I guess I will just have to see where it goes from here. Although cutting my hair makes it easier to deal with, there is another reason it make me happy. The second time I cut my hair,(I've only cut it three times) I inspired my friend to cut hers. He had a full foot and three-inches of beautiful flowing hair and went straight into a pixie. It was her first time cutting her hair and it was an experience. She went through all the stages these girls went through. At first she was like "let's do this" then she was like "oh no what have I done " but lastly she was like "F**K YEAH LETS Go MAN!!!" It was really amazing to see how happy she was with her hair. I was so happy when she told me that it was all because of me. Because I what I have gone through and what my friend went through, it is easy for me to say that I completely agree with the statement that all girls should shave, dye, or majorly cut their hair(even though I'm not a girl myself but whatever). It gave my friend who shall not be named so much confidence and made me realize who I actually was (a guy). It's just as simple as that. P.S. If you actually read all of this, thank you.
