If you have to bleach it again get a hair cut afterwards so you can trim some of the dead ends off! That's what I do after dying my hair with semi-permanent hair dye at home and my hair feels less damaged for doing it .

She thinks it's so sweet that you give tips since many hairdressers are secretive, plus now less people are messing up their hair! 😂We love your demonstrations, reviews, reactions & personality! I'm obsessed with my hair & so glad I listened to your advice to wait to have it professionally done! I wanted to add blonde to my naturally level 6 hair. I have some magenta in the ends that didn't want to budge, any further attempts would have damaged it. She did foils & color that came out making the magenta ends look like an intentional ombre! I cut off at least 6" & it feels amazing! 💇‍♀💖

I love these fail videos, it always reminds me when I used to put a box dye over my natural hair (didn’t cover all my hair so ended up with big patches of natural dark brown everywhere) I’ve now got my taste of having light coloured hair and after my failed attempts of dying my hair at home I now put my trust in my hairdresser and much prefer to pay for a proper hairdresser to do my hair than for me to ruin it myself plus I have anxiety so if I ruined my hair now my anxiety would over rule me

Yep...i also tried this when lavender hair was really popular... I've been bleaching and dying for about 3 years now, done lots of colors and decided lime green is my favorite. Thanks to you and Hair Buddha, learned many lessons. Haven't had my hair fall out yet.

Ultra violet from manic panic is such a fussy and unpredictable dye, from my experience. Fades immediately, and not pretty. Deep purple dream, on the other hand, was indeed a dream! Lasts soo long and fades into a really pretty lavender. It kinda works even on orangey hair(a more burgundy result) because it is a warmer shade.

Here’s a tip for girlies who want pastel: put conditioner in a bowl, enough to cover your whole head and a lil extra, then add a little bit of color at a time until you get a color you want in your bowl. Don’t make it too dark! And yes, it will fade quickly every time. I’ve done pastel soooo many times, I was pastel colors for over a year.

I wanna share my experience going from orange to purple! I would bleach my roots to a yellow/blonde color and then apply arctic fox sunset orange. I did this for 3 years so the hair underneath the orange had all been bleached just once. but I knew the color was deep in the hair. I wanted to avoid bleach and damaging my hair so I washed my hair with hot water (normally only cold to preserve my hair color) every day for maybe 10 days and it faded my color fast to a light pink/orange/yellow color. the ends being the most orange and roots looking just yellow. I found a purple hair dye that was blue based. many reviews, customers complained that it just turned their hair blue so I knew that would be perfect to help fight the orange. did a test strand and it was beautiful so I dyed all of my hair. it's a dark purple but not dark that it looks close to brown or black. the purple is so vibrant. but as I feared, with less than 10 washes it turned so blue in many areas and some turned brown so, I dyed it again and again. I was afraid the purple wouldn't stay but I was prepared to dye my hair purple every 2 weeks until it sticks. I love it so much and couldn't have imagined I could go from 3 years of orange to purple.

Regarding the no wash before bleaching rule: I get the point of leaving oils on your scalp, but I’ve always worried the products I have in my hair will make it patchy. Is that a valid concern or no?

I used to be platinum blonde and whenever I had to bleach my roots, I only used hairoil in my hair after the last wash leading up to it, because of exactly that. I assume they would react but it probably depends on what there is in those products
