Something my hairstylist did to get the stubborn blue out of my hair is to apply a mix of the “clear” hair dye used to dilute your hair color and 10 volume developer. I just went through this hell about a month ago. Had a horribly impulsive moment & decided I missed my blue hair, my hair was blonde to start. Literally used all the same products I’ve used in the past, & did it the same way I used too. This time my hair was ruined. Getting the blue out this time almost cost me my hair, & I will NEVER do it again. My hair is finally back to the blonde I like, but it took me goin to the salon, having them rebleach my hair (wanted to cry) then dye it red bc that was the only color I was told I could go with… ended up coloroopsing it a week later, & going lighter shades of blonde until I was happy. Many, MANY nights of hot oil treatments, olaplex, & trimming dead ends, my hair is kinda soft again. Tldr never again 😩

I had DARK purple and blue hair for about 4 years before my mom made me go back to a natural color for my senior pictures. It took like 3 days to get it back to brown professionally. I learned my lesson the hard way with blue hair. My mum did a cool red/pink/purple/blue gradient on my hair, with blue roots and red ends. It looked cool as hell if I say so myself. However when I wanted to go back to a natural colour, my GOD. We let it all fade out (might've used a colour remover too if I remember right?) got a warm toned brown to dye over and just did the thing. Until it had all grown out and been cut off, my hair was like dark seaweed green-brown. Like it was definitely brown, but if you looked at it a bit longer the weird green undertones came through. If I ever do a bright colour again I will be sticking to the pink/red/orange family in future. Never again. 😂

Got blue, teal, and purple out of my hair in 2020 and was able to tone it to a nice ash blonde. Was it fried to kingdom come? Absolutely. I'm still suffering the repercussions two years later xD

I feel like I will be in your part two if I decide to film it and you do a second ‘blue to blonde’ video. I do love watching these as you give helpful tips of how it could’ve gone better. One thing that would be really amazing to see, is if you possibly did a series highlighting methods to better remove fantasy colors from your hair at home and really touched on properly doing bleach baths, test strands, sectioning, aftercare, etc that was a more technical video but I also understand if you can’t or don’t want to. Like even if people paid for it and it was individualized/not public on KZbin. It may also not be possible for a stylist to give out secrets like that 😅

I'm a trainee hairdresser and my best friend asked me to dye her hair half black and half white. It started as a light blue with an inch or two of brown roots. I dyed the root first and got it blonde, then did a bleach bath on the blue part of her hair but it didn't remove any of the blue. By that point we ran out of lightener so we just dyed her whole head black :)

When I had blue hair, I did it myself, but getting rid of it was not happening. I bleached it once, it faded to a nice pale turquoise that I kept for a bit, but actually getting rid of it required the salon. She did a colour filler and then put me back to brown, and luckily there was no serious damage.

Blue hair is SUCH a commitment lol! I knew that going into it but it still sucks to not have the exact hair color I want now bc I’m growing out my purple-grey-stained ends. Healthy ends, at least- that’s the great thing about not rushing your hair and over-processing to get immediate results! Never do it! I’m inspired to try a toner soon tho since it’s been a min since I’ve processed my hair at all

I had Arctic Foxs Blue Jean Baby at the tips of my hair for a little over a month with dirty blonde virgin roots. I’ve gotten most of the blue out using head and shoulders. It’s still very light blue but I know a quick little bleach session would do the trick to remove the rest.

I feel I achieve the impossible at home so thanks Brad for the tips, I went from a blueish purple back to a chocolate color but I didn't want a dull dark color with greenish bits so I did lightened the hair two times with 20 volumes. The first time I did it on the all head and the second I touched up all the blue bits. I ended up with slightly greenish hair, which I thought would happen so I when on with professional copper dye with 20 volumes and only then I did the chocolate dye. IT'S EVEN THANKS GOD BRAD AHAHA

My hair is dyed DARK dark bluish purple (originally direct dye, which got EVERYWHERE, and now, semi-permanent) I don’t know if I should just dye it black or grow it out, as I don’t think it’ll go anywhere. My roots are semi permanent pink and my bangs are rainbow lmao.

Maybe a yellow-orange color would tone it out?
@Hiweeerie Жыл бұрын
Use a orange hair dye and let it sit for 11-12 minutes and it will still be a little bit purple/blue so put some more orange or yellow on it for 4-5 mins and then look at a color wheel and whatever color your hairs is, find it on the color wheel and look across from it and use that color on your hair and then it will be one solid color then dye the color you want and it will be normal

I wanna say, as someone who has tried blue in my hair once and it come out after like 5 washes (i have to wash my hair everyday unfortunately, super oily scalp), I sort of envy the people who can do all this to their hair and it still be blue when all I have to do is wash mine and the color comes right out.. lol. I am naturally around a lvl 8 blonde and have super fine hair. Cannot get color to stay in my hair for the life of me that isn't a natural color... so no red, green, blue, purples, anything for me.

The Vitamin C method (4 crushed Vit C tablets and clarifying shampoo) worked on my hair. I have type 4 hair and had box dyed it black for 15 years. It stripped it about 4 levels before I was able to bleach it. It took a couple of bleach baths and three rounds of bleach then I could go flamingo pink on the ends with candy floss pink on the roots. It luckily didn’t damage my hair doing the Vit c method. i stayed clear of the dish soap! Afro hair and no oils don’t mix!

I didn't record my ridiculous bleaching process but you guys would've loved it. I'll just explain it to you: I'd like to preface this by saying my godmother is a hairdresser and I could've just gone to her and saved all this chaos. First of all my hair was very dark brown on top and faded blue on the bottom. Nice, easy start amirite? I had one little tiny Jerome Russell bleach sachet with 40 volume for my long hair. I thought "that's fine, I'll just do my roughly 5 inch roots for now and figure out the rest when I get more". It was not fine. It was mostly even but I ran out so there were a couple dark spots. I didn't want to bleach again so I got the lighest box blonde colour to help even out some of the patchiness. It should've had more effect than it did since I was putting on the uncoloured area of my hair but nothing happened so I went back to bleach. By the way, I waited roughly two weeks between each bleaching experience to give my hair the best fighting chance but even that would not save me. So at this point I have very orangey-yellowy patchy hair and I still have a few dots of brown on the top of my head, and a now faded light blue on the bottom. I desperately watched Brad's video's to figure out where the hell to start. So I actually sectioned my hair this time and slowly, with a few sachets of bleach (I looked everywhere for like a bucket of bleach but found nothing) and 30 volume this time, I started to cover the darkest parts, then waited, then the medium parts, then waited, then finally the lightest areas (including the blue which had been bleach approximately 1500 times at this point) and waited only a few minutes then washed it off. If you are reading this far, thank you for sticking with me. Somehow, I don't know how, but I do still have hair. I used Aussie purple shampoo to tone it a silvery purple blonde colour and it looks soo cool. It makes it all worth it. My poor hair will not dry after washing it but it seems to get a little healthier after every condition so we haven't seen the end of my hair yet...yet. I would like to apologize to my mum who used to be a hairdresser and had to witness all of this.

Blue/green/turquoise is so hard to get rid of. I used a semi permanent copper a few years ago to neutralize the rest of color that didn’t want to fade and I ended up with a more or less warm/neutral blond.
