It's time for a colour change; in this video I'll show you how to get rid of blue hair dye. I actually had a mix of blue and green hair dye in my hair, but I'm sure this product will work for any colour of direct dye. I didn't even know until after I dyed my hair green and then blue that green/blue dyes are said to be some of the hardest colours to get out of your hair!! That being said I am so happy that this product worked as well as it did. Watch the video to watch the steps I took to bring my hair back to blonde with minimal damage. Also, I hope you don't mind the long intro, I wanted to give you as much information as possible :).

If I have both permanent and semi permanent color, should I use a color remover first to remove the permanent and then use the eraser after to get rid of the semi?
@JannaNiki
@JannaNiki Жыл бұрын
@@kaitlynmills9893 The colour remover should work on both at the same time, I don't think you will need to do two sessions. You can always do a patch test to see how it reacts to your hair before committing to your whole head. :) let me know how it goes!

@Janna Niki that's what I was thinking actually I got color oops so I'll just do a patch and if it goes wrong I can cover it back up with semi till I figure out what to do. Honestly I might just buzz it off if this all goes wrong 😅

Are they really professionals though if they don't 🤔 I see stylists comment under diy videos all the time, acting high and mighty and condemning laypeople doing their own hair, but the reason some of us do their own hair (besides saving money doing so) is because we've been let down by so-called professionals because they either didn't know what the hell they were doing or didn't listen to the client's wishes, or both. In my opinion, people that don't know what she just covered shouldn't even be called professionals because what separates them from any other person coloring their hair is simply a paycheck and nothing else.
@AkiAlchemicae
@AkiAlchemicae 3 жыл бұрын
@@pewpewcat7679 I totally agree 🤷🏼‍♀️ but being a professional only means that you went to school/uni to earn a degree, sadly it does qualify you for working in a field without saying anything about how good you are at what you're doing. I personally only do my hair myself because whenever I let other stylists do it, they fuck it up. So I totally understand your distrust. But there are good ones out there, you know? Stylists who work hard, do their best (and still earn very little money, but that's a different story) so please, don't let yourself be fooled by these high-horsed idiots on the internet or those stylists who don't give a f*ck about people's hair.

Every single time I dyed my hair a unnatural color, it was my fav: BLUE 💙 HowEVERR, just recently I got blue with red and did both (like blue and red streaks), but now I’m SO in love with the red that I want the blue out so I can have blonde w/ red and pink! Wanna go for more of a sherbet style for summer so this is the only time I’m dreading blue 😭 (although it’s still beautiful ;w; it was the first time doing it myself and I’m so proud with how VIVID the blue is)

Thank you so much for being so informative! I really loved how in depth your video was! The device that came with your Olaplex #1 actually goes inside of your bottle! You should be able to pop off the squeezy lid that comes on your Olaplex and then you pop the device onto the bottle instead. Once you pop the device into your bottle, when you squeeze the bottle the Olaplex squeezes up into the measurement section. Once you stop at your correct amount of Olaplex and let go the device closes itself at the bottom so that you can tip it over to pour into your bleach mixture! I hope that my description makes sense and was informative for you! Love from another fellow Canadian!!

I had no issues taking blue dye out of my hair. I used the baking soda, dish detergent, and a little shampoo method. I did it 3x let it sit for 30-45 minutes each time, it faded the aquamarine (adore brand) out of my hair. I did a bleach bath/ wash? for 30 minutes and it was completely gone and now half my hair is cotton candy pink and the other half is back. And I have curly hair,my hair is just fine still curly (curl did fall a little little bit) but my hair is still soft and curls are still there.

My streaks were violet, and I usually just let violet come out of my hair over time, but this is the first time I've bleach-bathed it, and wow I wasn't expecting such a bright teal! will the color eraser lighten hair under the dye? I’m taking out my blue with joico within the next week. it turned green since there was some residual brown from the last time i lightened my hair.

I follow someone who was a hairdresser and is now a hair KZbinr and she said the joico color eraser is pretty much just bleach . So im surprised it did such a good job! . When i’ve tried removing blue or green before i just bleached bathed it and the colour wouldn’t go away it would just lighten the shade each time but wouldn’t remove . Hair buddha said thats because bleach tends to just push blue and green colours deeper into the hair which makes sense. So im really surprised on how this worked on your hair :)

So I dyed my hair blue and it’s like yours and I want to take it out and I did a color remover but the remover said to add water instead over developer and did nothing so next time should I try developer with color remover ?

So do you mean a blue band as in you might get bleach on the previously blue dyed hair to were it might come back through after using the hair color remover? I'm curious because I'm going to be using a color remover on loreal colorista blue I did months ago that won't come out, and I have to bleach my roots as well.

Finally someone explains the difference between regular bleach and color remover. Too bad I saw this after a bleach wash and not, it did not completely removed the greenish blue :/

I can't find a place to get Olaplex no. 1 and no. 2 . Would it be too damaging to do steps #3 and #4 without them? Also, I don't want to bleach my roots, so should I skip #1 and #2?

I was at 8:10 last weekend and used some Joico color eraser..then did a bleach bath and my roots are still tragically banana yellow and the rest a bad pale mint-aqua...ugh! So frustrating. I knew I shouldn't do blue again. So hard to get out. Gonna try Schwarzkopf remover in a few days to strip it out more..fingers crossed! Thanks for the video but it just made me jealous it didn't work the same for me! 😂

I dyed my hair blue about a month or 2 ago, and I decided I wanted to go back to my natural brown. At this point, 90% of my hair is faded and ready to bleach, but there are parts if my hair that look like they were dyed yesterday. If I bleach it while it's still blue, then dye it brown, will it come out an ugly color? Please help, I've been trying to get it out for 3 weeks now and it isn't budging.

My only suggestion would have been to use a 30vol on the roots because Olaplex takes you down another level, effectively to a 20. So the 20 you used turned into a 10 vol. Not sure if that was your intent or not. Good job on trying to maintain the integrity of your hair.

@HeartlyChase
@HeartlyChase 11 ай бұрын
That's not true. They recently changed the formula, so you do not need to bring it down a level anymore. Also, 20 vol is the max that should be on the scalp!

Agree to the comment above... I started using 1&2 and it doesn't dilute my developer... Still use 20vol without compromising the lightening effects

I dyed my hair with Arctic fox black and used Joico color eraser and now my hair is pink! Then I tried using the purple shampoo/baking soda/dish soap/developer method and it didn’t do anything at all. I’m going to try the joico color remover again next week. I used it before when I had purple hair and it made me back to blonde! It really does work I just think that the black I used just had red undertones that are hard to get out :( but the joico color eraser really does work but it will lift natural color too so if anyone is thinking of applying it just be careful where you put it!!

Was it a light pink? You mighhttt be able to tone it out with some green shampoo, I know overtone makes some. But I would say you are at least making progress! I would think black would be really difficult to reverse

@@Gardenoeden i ended up using a mixture of baking soda and dandruff shampoo and dish soap and it got my pink out a lot more but then the blue dandruff shampoo deposited some blue on my ends. i went to a salon last week and got it fixed because i was mostly blonde but still had some pink and a little bit of blue. my hair is also reaaallly damaged after everything. good luck, its tough!! :(
