Hello! I'm 18 years of age and I never had that much hair all of my life, you could see my scalp very easy. My mom has very thin hair (she uses minoxidil). My dad lost all of his hair when he was about 30 and has gotten two transplants ever since. So I knew I was doomed from the beginning. So at the beginning of quarantine I got a edger cut or a crop top haircut which is very short. (I've always had longish hair) I saw that my crown area was getting very thin but I didn't really take notice at first because I had short hair and I thought it probably is normal. But then when my hair got to half of its normal length I saw so many hairs in the shower or sink and when I run my hands through it. I told my mom and she said "it's fine" but then I told her to wash my hair and see for herself had she was flabbergasted on how many hairs were coming out. I was researching on every single hair loss prevention product and I came across your channel and all the things you do. I was hesitant at first to do Finasteride and Minoxidil but I had to or I would've lost all my hair. So we booked an appointment with a dermatologist and he saw the damage and put me on Finasteride and Minoxidil. I've been doing Finasteride 1MG (Once Every Other Day), Minoxidil (Once Daily), Derma Roll 1MM (Once A Week), Hair Laser Therapy (Once Every Three Days), and Biotin (Once Daily). You and many other channels saved my hair and pushed me to hop on these hair loss prevention treatments. I've been on Finasteride for 7 Months and Minoxidil for 3 Months and the results I've seen are INSANE! My crown area probably hasn't been this filled before I started losing my hair. I see new hairs coming in the hairline and I see less loss of hair in the shower... My confidence has sky rocketed and my stress levels are at a all time low and it feels good to not think about my hair 24/7 like I was a year ago. Thank you for the awesome content!

Both finasteride and minoxidil are androgen receptor antagonists, as well as the other effects they have. (5AR type 2 inhibition and vasodilation, respectively) But why start taking them when they are both unsustainable in the long run? I think at least 90-95 percent of men will discontinue after 6-12 months of use, and there are good reasons for that.

Not in the context of evolution, not in the context of observations in hunter-gatherers, and it does not fit with the data at all. The skull expansion theory however explains things perfectly. @@arikrox98 -It`s caused by excessive DHT yes, which is a downstream effect of insulin resistance mainly. That`s why you don`t see it in hunter-gatherer`s I think. Just like you don`t see acne, dandruff, BPH, prostate cancer, hairy backs and shoulders etc, and PCOS, endometriosis in women. (All effects of the Western diet and lifestyle) But the genetic component is DHT sensitivity in the osteoblasts of one or several of the bones of the scalp. That will then determine the pattern and severity of the condition. The regulation of androgens (including DHT) are related to insulin, IGF-1 and SHBG/liver fat accumulation. -It`s not the size of the head per se, but the bones that will grow excessively and causes ridges at the suture lines, almost like mountain ranges. (Often you will see a big forehead in frontal baldness though.) That stretches the Galea and causes tension in the skin above it, which in time will cause fibrotic lesions and reduced blood flow to the follicles in the subcutis. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2715645/ There is solid data showing both fibrosis in MPB, and that the hair loss corresponds with the tension in the Galea. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4639964/ pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18286292/ -Believe what you will my friend, but as a biologist that has worked with this subject also, I have to say that it`s a bit crazy to think that evolution selected for baldness. That is what you`re saying if follicles in parts of the scalp react differently to DHT than all other tissues in the body. The part of the scalp that overlies the The GA precisely btw, which is shown to be stretched the most in the areas where MPB first appears, and where it is most severe also. I started micro-needling with a proper roller that I ordered from Aaron. I have to say, it feels like the topical minoxidil is really now penetrating the scalp for the first time. It gives me a slight itchy feeling for a few hours after I apply the minoxidil, which is a good feeling that I like. It actually feels like something is going on up there, for once Also, I started oral minoxidil 7 days ago. (about 3.3 mg per day) (10 mg pill split into 3's). This is going to sound weird, but after only 7 days, I can see that my sideburns, beard hair (short stubble), and eyebrows have all gotten thicker. I don't know why it would respond so quickly, and like that...but I can see it. I've never been a responder to topical 5% minoxidil. I use it, but...I can't say that's it's ever done much for me, possibly prevented some hair loss...maybe? But I'll keep an eye on what the hair on the top of my scalp is doing over the next 6 months with these two tools at work; the oral Minoxidil, and the topical minoxidil with a proper derma-roller, and we'll what happens. I think this may really turn out some results for me. I found out about oral Minoxidil on this site, and I'm glad I started on it.

Coldfire22, it sounds like you are doing the very same routine that I am currently on. I've noticed some things just after 7 or 8 days. @@westfieldartworks8188 Oh wow, you have seen results already? I haven't noticed much to be honest. My beard is already very thick and grows in fast, so if there is any change it would be hard to notice. While of course I hope it slows down/stops any more loss of hair, I really want my recede to fill in, so fingers crossed for that.
@westfieldartworks81883 жыл бұрын
@@coldfire22 Well, the " results " I've seen were just in facial hair, a bit on the sideburns, and believe it or not, my eyebrows. It took about 4 days and I started looking in the mirror and saw a noticeable thickening of these areas. It was weird...but you could see it, and I didn't expect it. The hair on my head is too long and sort of thick to notice any difference. I see no difference yet in the small bald spot at the top of my head. I'm taking photos and giving that 6 to 9 months to see if I notice anything. I've never responded much or at all to topical 5% Minoxidil. So this was kind of wild to see my facial hair, beard stubble, and so on, thicken up within days of taking oral Minoxidil. I don't know if that means that it will help my small bald spot on the top of my head, but I'm hoping it will in time. I'll just need to be patient. But I know FOR SURE, that the oral Minoxidil is being " received " by my body at least, as the hairs on other parts of my head, responded to the initial dosage, and rather quickly, as far as hair restore medications go.
@westfieldartworks81883 жыл бұрын
@@coldfire22 And by the way, since I started taking the oral Minoxidil, which as I count the pak, has actually been 10 days now, I find myself running my hand across my short beard and mustache multiple times per day. It not only looks thicker, it's got a much thicker texture. I can feel it. It's sort of coarser, and thicker...And in the mirror, especially my rear view mirror in my car, I look at my eyebrows,...and kind of laugh. Thick eyebrows is NOT what I'm after....but there they are. I did see the photos of the Spanish children who were wrongly prescribed 5% Oral Minoxidil, as there was apparently a mix up in their medications, and they ended up taking oral Minoxidil by mistake....they were the wrong meds. Those kids also ended up with thick hairlines and sideburns and eyebrows... Now that they've stopped, I think the hair growth went back to normal for them, but yeah... I hope the hair on my head follows suit with what's going on with the hair on my face. Sounds like you're looking for the same thing, Coldfire. I hope the oral Minoxidil gives you the results you're looking for.

If minox works by bringing blood flow to your head wouldn’t daily headstand/handstand also work to?? I’m a athletic guy I’m curious if that would also work.

finasterida is so weak for agressive/young alopecias, use dutasteride if you want results
@natechenry3 жыл бұрын
Poor comment. Dutasteride is way more potent and risky for sides. Finasteride does the same amount of work. It’s also the best for those aggressive / young alopecia folks. Don’t spread this crap.

@@natechenry the side effect profile can be different, but the two are not the same. Some people even find they can take dutasteride over finasteride, though this is topical use not oral dutasteride. It also isnt the same reaults at all. It has a much stronger effect than finasteride. However to cycle off it of there are side effects is much longer than finasteride, so it is normally suggested to try finasteride first, then upgrade if you dont have side effects but need more aggressive options. Everyone does have different risk preference too so that is a personal factor. But dutasteride is much stronger than finasteride.

Currently into topical finasteride and minoxidil homebrew mix at 0.05% 2ml application. Too early to gauge progress. Started the topical routine in August, before that was on varying doses of oral fin since last December but kept getting sides.

There are 2 aussie hair doctors in youtube. They seem legit and they are claiming taking finasteride everyday is excessive and unnecessary. 1 mg for 3 days (Mon. , Wed. , and Fri.) Gives the same results according to them.

How long Does IT take for finasterid to see results ?

I'm not going to lie, the finasteride and minoxidil combo over years doesn't seem to do much in any of these examples besides halt the balding process, very few clearly gained much density or reestablished lost parts of their hair. Hopefully one day besides multiple transplants and being on blood pressure and prostate meds there will be an effective and healthier option for reversing baldness.

Lets say i start taking finasteride at the age of 35 and i see good results. Than i quit finasteride at 40. Will my hair (that finasteride has hold or grown) be fast gone? So that my hair statues would be the same, like i never had taken finasteride? Or will my hair loss just skip these 5 years and i do not loose the hair, i would have otherwise (without taking finasteride) lost?
@gregwoodward3 жыл бұрын
If you were to stop taking finasteride your hair would return to the state it was in. It’s something you gotta stay on until you’re ready to let go lol

This has to be false, i know this cuz im still taking finasteride everyday with topical minoxidil daily for years and recently have a spike of hairloss on the front . When i first started fin it worked ok but on begining of around the 3rd yr im losing my hairline by 75%
