I'm going to go by "Billy-2". I don't think I will get a shout out, though. Billy O. I just rode a 2022 Yamaha FX Limited SVHO today down the Mississippi. Buddy's new ride. I don't know how I will get on one of these new Kawi's, unless I buy one. I'd love to compare. The FX was so smooooth.

I looked at these but ended up in a 2022 Seadoo GTX 300 Limited. So far I love it. The supercharger power in sport mode is unreal. It drinks fuel at an unreal rate too.

I did the same thing on my gp1300r - dropped a knee and full pinned turn and popped a hernia !!! Too old for such shenanigans !! best sounding ski by far with that roots style squeal !

Hey Kevin, I’ve had a deposit on one of these (310LX) since winter. In the meantime, my Yamaha dealer was able to get me a matching pair of FXHO’s due to a cancellation. I’m fighting wake-boat wake on Smith Lake in Alabama and the Yamahas are good - not great with that. Mostly long cruises and pulling tubers. Would one of these these be worth breaking up the pair for? Thanks!

Rode all 3 Brands this past weekend in choppy water, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Seadoo top models. I have the Yamaha FX SVHO. In rough water, this is how the 3 of us all felt, Seadoo is best in rough water and keeps you the driest, Yamaha 2nd place and Kawasaki 3rd place. I do respect Kevin for his honest answer of choosing the HO's when asked!

Jon, please DO NOT take this advice. The Sea-Doo ST3 hull is the single worst tracking, most unpredictable hull in the industry today. A Spark tracks truer through chop than the ST3 hull (RXT, GTX, Wake, Fish Pro). The FX is the wettest of these but tracks true and smoothly. The Kawasaki is singularly the best hull design for rough water. Racer for the past 15 years all agree and the hull has the championships to prove it. It's not as dry of a ride, but it'll never steer erratically or jolt side to side.

@@watercraftjournal I already bought the FXHOs. They’re serving us really well so far. Been on Lewis Smith near Arley for about 6-8 hours and ran most of Tim’s Ford with my wife a few weeks back. I don’t think I need more than what I’ve got. GPS speed hits 62 with my 285# and kid passenger.

We are looking to get on the water and live by the Gulf of Mexico I just want to make sure that this would be a good fit for us.

No. I always suggest the factory oil, which is often "white label" produced by major manufactures. You will not gain any benefit by switching oils - none that you will ever see.

I've heard mixed reviews on the throttle trigger config. I'm assuming that once you learn how it works it should be fine but what are your throughts on how they put the reverse lever on the same mount as the throttle? Any issues or delays getting it to go from forward to reverse if you need to in a hurry?

Kawi's brake won't save you "in a hurry." It deploys slowly and doesn't spin up more than 3,000rpm, which isn't a heck of a lot of thrust.

It's a right hand thumb brake. Throttle and brake are on the same side.

@@watercraftjournal I owned a 2012 300lx for years and it would always snap a plug during spark plug changes at dealer. I do however operate in salt water and kept it on a raised lift year round. I am interested in getting a new Kawasaki but was hoping they did some improvements to the head.

Dissimilar metals tend to fuse, especially when not properly coated/treated. Coat the plug's threads before installation, and ALWAYS wash down and oil (WD-40 or other lubricant) your engine after use. Again, this is "Basic Maintenance 101."

The water was pretty smooth, so I was trying to churn up the water as much as possible to see how it tracked through a corner. The Ultra corners predictably; not as sharply as the FX (and nowhere near the GP) but doesn't search or "bow hunt" like the RXP-X.

Picked up a 2022 kawasaki ultra 310 lx Can anyone tell me how to connect my Samsung mobile phone blue tooth to the machine. Oly heck been fighting with trying to connect blue tooth for 5 hours now Won't connect just to phone. Says needs app. Download rideology motorcycle as it's one available. Does not see unit and unit does not see phone. Go to find rideology the app. ot available in canada. What the frigg. Does some one have step by step connectivity instructions? What functions need to be turned on. Does it need to be synced with Google cloud? Little reduculous to try and get the 4 fancy speakers to work. Ready to return the unit. Some one please help.

@LUCAM Tire I literally fought with the phone syncing process for 15 minutes before giving up. (I'm literally going to be talking about this on tonight's podcast.) Apparently, others are NOT having this issue and can happily sync their phone to the system with ease, so I believe it's a software issue. -K

@@watercraftjournal i figured it out. Little frustrating if you do not know! The rideology app I don't know if it works with the ultra 310 lx. It might. I am not sure. But it did not sync last night in the garage with engine not running. I did not test when on the water today with engine running. For blue tooth audio you need to sync with the stereo. So their is 2 blue tooth connections you need to do. Bluetooth One connection Machine to phone bluetooth ID (Ultra 310lx) in instrument cluster under Bluetooth for rideology app from what I understand. I believe this only works with rideology app. Bluetooth connection 2 for audio press hold audio button till flashing on unit. On phone Bluetooth connection ID kawadaki Ultra 310lx for machine Kawasaki for audio

All I did was fire the dash up on the LX and push the middle (volume knob) down for 2-3 seconds until the blue ring light turned on. That means it’s ready to be paired. Turn Bluetooth on my phone and it showed “Kawasaki”…. Hit that, it paired. I was listening to music in 30 seconds.

Supercharger is the same as before - it's the lower center of gravity in an already established hull.

They would have sold more for sure. It’s a flagship product and there is a total lack of information on it. I’ve heard from a couple dealers that they feel really under served on the PWC side.

Piston failures ended (for the most part) in 2017 when they switched back to forged slugs instead of those awful hypereutectic pistons. The Eaton TVS produces a peak 16.8psi vs. the Sea-Doo's peak 9psi @ 8,000rpm.

I personally struggled with the SX-R 1500 - it felt far too huge. The SuperJet (albeit slower) was far more fun to flick around. Although neither of those two compared to the SX-R 800. -K

It all comes down to hull design. 310lx has quite a deep v hull design that's meant to cut through waves like a hot knife through butter. Yamaha's gp1800r turns quite a bit better and coincidentally has a much more shallow designed v hull. That 1,000+ pound curb weight of the Kawasaki ski could come in handy for tanking waves in large choppier bodies of water

​@@justinbiggs1005 Its sharper V design which I've found helps keep the impeller hooked up better than the other brands. I own a 2018 NA Ultra LX and came up against a GP1800 in the chop, we were side by side at full throttle. Also going across a choppy bay, I can be flat pinned and pull away from other supercharged models. If more people knew this I wonder if the Kawasaki market share would be higher?
