It is so important to support the rights of the people and limit the ability of the government to concentrate power without oversight, because earning freedom has a cost that can only be paid in blood. Why doesn't the US. or the UN. step in and help the innocent people of Haiti? They are in need of help as much as the Ukrainians. The UN is all words and no action: they are as useless as the League Of Nations proved to be. The US. doesn't care about a country with no oil. I'm ashamed to be an American. While I am a Canadian, I am still a North American, and am not much different from my US. cousins. Canadians are no better than the US. with regard to humanitarian issues.
