Dream doesn't need a freaking stupid resume like Kareem or Wilt, and both these players resumes were helped drastically by playing with guys like Jerry West and Magic Johnson. Jordan couldn't get to 30 vs Houston if he had to save his kids. and Vernon Maxwell pucked Jordan all day. and when grant go involved he punked him to and Otis Thorpe soned grant too.. bulls weren't tough enough or skilled enough for Houston. its just the wrong match up for them . anyone else gets beaten by Jordan. hakeem and mad max changes that conversation dramatically.

Olajuwon was the best centre when it comes to getting the most from his frame and athletic ability. His post work was sublime, but his passing and mid range shooting were as good as most. Great video, I most enjoyed that if any rockets player shot the ball (other than Hakeem) there was going to be a tip jam.

I am so proud to have attended his Alma mater but more so to have grown up on basketball and being a fan of his. The 93-95 championships happened when I was a teen and both my parents died... his championships lifted my spirits so high... he gave me such a bright spot in such a personally horrible time. He made native Houstonians feel that though we were somewhat a dirty depressed urbanized seaport city, that we could achieve greatness if we tried. Well, me at least.

Hakeem Olajuwon cannot even be compared to any other Center ever in the NBA. He is by far the most skilled Center to ever play basketball. He played like a traditional big man with his back to the basket, and from there he had an arsenal of moves. He could turn and hit a fade, or even pull up for a mid-range jumper. Great offensive player but one of the most dominant defensive forces ever in the NBA. Respect to an absolutely stunning basketball player.

There are two plays on this clip that I love. First, the block on KJ in the '95 WCSF. It was a great payback play after Johnson put him on a poster earlier in the game (even though the mayor of Sacremento pushed off with his free arm...alot. Offensive foul, maybe?). Second, when Dream spun through a Kevin Mchale, Larry Bird double team and dunked all over Robert Parish. That play is awesome because Olajuwon went over and around three 1st ballot HOFers in a single play. Dream was amazing!

For me Olajuwon, Russell, Jabbar and Wilt are by far the best centers of all time. Moses, Ewing, Shaq and Robinson are also amazing. It's too bad most younger people don't get to see a real center play. Olajuwon did so much. Amazing shot blocker, help defender, great mid range game for a big man a great teammate.

I grew up in Houston, and I watched both.. Kareem is the greatest BB player to ever walk the planet, brother.. Olajuwon was unique, though, I'll agree with you on that.. The skill set of Jabbar was just other worldly.. Not only did he control the paint, rebound, block shots (more than Olajuwon, BTW, they just didn't keep that stat his fist 4 seasons), he was a master outlet passer, which fueled Showtime.. And, as you said, whenever his team needed it, the most devastating shot, ever..
