So f'ing good! I love that syncopated fill at 2:26. I love how Haken wrote such a cool 1-bar transition to set up the riff change. That's the stuff that separates God-tier bands like Haken from bedroom guitarists/songwriters like me. It also separates them from most other established bands out there.

Dude, I love that you're doing these Haken covers. I've been following you for YEARS and totally see the evolution of your drumming and I absolutely LOVE how Ray plays and how he has taken the "Portnoy style of playing" to the next level. Dude, most songs off of Vector are SO impossible to play! Ray has so many awesome licks and fills that are tough as fuck to replicate! It's rare to find decent Haken drum covers out there and you nailed this one. Would love to see you try and attempt "Nil by Mouth" and "A Cell Divides". Those are fucking tought! Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you very much! Indeed... the stuff on Vector is so hard to learn. As I heard it the first time I thought I will never be able to play this stuff. The Architect was hard but this is another level. Haken became my fav Prog Band. I don't know but the newer DT stuff is not my thing. Ray is so fuckin' tight (as Mangini) but he still sounds organic and natural.

amazing kick and snare sound man! The only thing I don't appreciate is the third tom, i feel there's too much sustain on that, also when you hit cymbals you can hear it, but still great the sound, as always, great cover!!! One thing, that's my opinion, peace :)

Nil by Mouth würde ich gerne machen, aber das ist nochmal deutlich schwerer. Mal schauen. Vielleicht packt mich der Ehrgeiz :)

Holly balls! Those are some great drumming skills right there, man! Amazing cover! Maybe noticed already, but some bleed is going on the harmonics of the floor tom when you go bananas and the kick triggers the gate for the FT. (Saw the comment with the sustain of the FT, i disagree. Sustain is nice of the FT, just the gate. Decay deep and snappy :D) Rather than that, the playing really is on point!! I love how Haken is taking the progressive metal genre to the next level and how Dream Theater has turned into a sack of shit doing the same old sounding prog metal... Saw Haken live twice and these guys are just brilliant. Major respect for them!

The thing is, Portnoy wanted a creative break and the other members don't. So the result is lag of creativity and the same sound/riffs/styles over and over again. I don't like the Mangini albums very much. The Astonishing was kinda fun to play on drums for the technical aspect but I didn't heard this album one single time only for the musical aspect. It's so boring to listen.
