To think they could have made a movie many hijabi’s could relate to. This movie is horrible and promotes more hate to Islam. To see a girl that loves skating and writing. I could almost see myself in her. Until they showed she began to go away from her religion made me upset. The strong faith is the one that can get you through anything. This doesn’t represent me as a young Muslims girl and I can say it definitely does not represent Islam.

Salma PREACH!
@deniztopuz68174 жыл бұрын
Salma The thing is her family is strict + Islam you know they blamed it on Islam like she was overwhelmed by her family and the more overwhelmed the more she goes against the rules,she was trying to find freedom by doing things she wasn’t supposed to and ruining other’s people lives and feelings it felt like this girl was just trying to be like others nothing else cause that’s not freedom by doing what she did she felt like oh yeah now I’m free at the end *SPOILER ALERT * away from her family she think she finds the freedom by removing her hijab off I don’t know like if you take your hijab off what does it change like I see most of people doing that and I can’t understand like it’s more because let me be like the others you know it was so stupid so stupid this movie
@deniztopuz68174 жыл бұрын
Salma like let’s say she’s in a strict family they could have chosen another religion like Christianity,Hindu or Jew but it would be better Hindu right so strict+ another faith it would have been the same but why especially Islam. Because people think Islam is not freedom women in Islam are oppressed so let’s us do this film to show y’all how they are oppressed and by staying away from it they are free and society already has bad opinions about Islam and thinks exactly as this movie has been portrayed and this movie now and these cast,producers they just confirmed it

@@GomaaFilms I wouldn't say 'agenda', but Jada is playing onto the image of the Muslim female who is supposedly suppressed by her religion and her culture. It seems to put an image out there that being Muslim and leading an emotionally fulfilling life are mutually exclusive.

I don‘t get how Jada Pinkett Smith is crying because „All eyez on me“ was a bad representation of Tupac and how they didn‘t ask her how she really feels, and then produce a movie about a hijabi without having asked any hijabi how they feel. Once again non muslims speaking for us. Like we don‘t have a voice ourself

I wanted to see this movie when I first saw the trailer cuz I’m a huge fan of Geraldine. She’s funny and a good actress. But once I saw who the director was I just stayed away from this movie. Knowing how Jada thinks and how she is it would go into this movie that has nothing to do with anything she believes in. So I just didn’t watch it. Cuz I know this movie coulda had so much potential to be a great movie if they got someone else to direct it.

Maybe don't make movies about how muslim girls feel about Islam and hijab when you don't even know anything about us. We don't need you to represent us and how 'oppressed' and 'desperate' we are. We can represent ourselves without your toxic misrepresentation of us.

I love it, a woman controversial in Hollywood for being upfront about her opinions on racism, collaborates with a Muslim woman, and the result is a comment section full of people accusing them of racism.

Mr. Hitman I’m a non-Muslim, pretty secular honestly. This movie was pretty good. I knew lots of Muslims were gonna get triggered though, it’d be a similar case if the movie was about a Jew or a Christian girl. It seems like a lot of Muslims think that some Muslim boys and girls don’t get abused by their families to follow their religion and culture. That definitely happens, and this movie discusses it. Some Muslim youth are allowed to choose to be religious, some are forced.
@girlwholovespopcorn4 жыл бұрын
Sunshine and Kei I totally agree, although I must say most Muslim hijabi women are triggered ( because) there never was a good representation of them on screen. Someone they can relate to, that is proud of her religion and want to use it for good. They said one side of the strict family story now right? Now it’s time to bring the good side story on screens.
