What a coincidence, we were there last week, same hotel, same floor.... We didn't get a hairdryer either. Other than that room service is good; easy access to the grand Masjid. Breakfast is okay, but little pricey (65 riyal per person) Overall no regrets, Alhamdulillah!

To everyone watching this , please remember that shoes are not allowed to be worn inside any masjid. I was shocked to see people wearing shoes inside and also when doing sahih! What's happening?

No it is ok in al haram but not everywhere

Inside. They'll tell you to take your shoes off. Except 1st floor for tawaf

how long before salah do you set off from your hotel ?

Set off at least 30 minutes before salah to have a chance to get into the masjid, otherwise you'll be praying in the courtyard.

Usually, around 10 minutes door-to-door. This is considered to be very close to the Haram in comparison to other hotels

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته There are others such as Elaf Kinda besides this hotel and also hotels located in Safwah Towers, which consists of Al Ghufran, Al Safwah Royal Orchid. But this hotel, the Swissotel Al Maqam, is good value for money in terms of distance and hotel rating.

This is not a standard room and is adapted for disabled persons and therefore has a wetroom instead of the standard shower cubicle.
