YES! I was hoping we would get to see this. There’s nothing like watching two true artists at work. Both Lzzy and Amy feel the song with their whole body, though their body language looks quite different. You can see both of their minds working as they make decisions about where and how to breathe, you can see how they think through the song. We are so lucky that not only have these two goddesses combined their talents and perspectives to create a truly timeless piece of art, but that we got a look at how they MADE that art. “Inspiring” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Years ago I went to “The Carnival of Madness” show featuring Halestorm and Evanescence. I got to see the 2 opening acts. Then Halestorm came out and it was a great thunderstorm. Lzzy kept playing in the rain and lightning. We got soaked. The stage manager called it. Amy Lee came out and played piano with Lzzy and that was the show. Even with the small stage small crowd and hellacious storm Halestorm was awesome. They gave all they had and didn’t want to leave the stage manager came out said “shows over”.

@Mark Five But this is still a Halestorm song. Amy is just singing guest vocals here. In the other scenario Lzzy would be singing guest vocals on an Evanescence song where Amy is the main singer. That would be different than this....

This song means so much to me and reminds me how things were when me and my partner started talking as I was afraid to open up as abuse survivor and he effortlessly broke all the walls and reached out to me and then made me feel so safe and happy. We're together 3 years in October and regardless of problems we went through I'm happiest woman alive to have him as my future husband. I'm not great singer but I'm gonna sing that song on our anniversary from depth of my heart as a surprise. ♥️

The same. I was in depression 2 years ago and only my long distance boyfriend was there for me till the end. The others cared about my condition at the beginning but a few months later stopped. So, he was the only one for me that time. Like in the song, I sometimes heard his voice inside my head; when my lights of happiness came on, he saw me as I am...I can say that every verse in the song says about smth of that time. Now I am fine and the depression is gone. My bf and I are still dating and we are happy to have each other in our lives. The song reminds me of those days but only with a smile on my face. Now I hope we will break the distance, so I will 'find myself running to meet him'. I'm very happy for you, I wish you the best!

The moment Amy came in just chills! Her vocal timbre is so distinctively iconic. Never really followed Evanescence religiously but everytime I hear her every now and then like this, it reminds me again why she’s so amazing. And why I had a huge crush on her voice alone for a majority of my teenage years. Hope she’s doing great stuff even now. Maybe I’ll go check up what she’s upto these days.

Their mic technique is on point. Notice that Lzzy is closer to the mic and Amy is a little farther away to give depth when they harmonize. Then they trade off.

Lyrics Put your lighter in the air and lead me back home When it's all said and done, I'll follow the echoes I hear you night after night calling out my name, ooh And I find myself running to meet you I didn't want to escape From the bricks that I laid down You are the only one The only one that sees me Trusts me and believes me You are the only one The only one that knows me And in the dark to show me Yeah, it's perfectly reckless Damn, you leave me defenseless So break in Break in You let me fall apart without letting go Then you pick up the pieces and you make me whole I didn't want to escape From the bricks that I laid down You are the only one The only one that sees me Trusts me and believes me You are the only one The only one that knows me And in the dark to show me Yeah, it's perfectly reckless Damn, you leave me defenseless So break in And take everything I have Till there is nothing left Till it's just your voice in my head And when the lights come on You see me as I am You're still inside me You are the only one The only one that sees me That trusts me and believes me You are the only one The only one that knows me And in the dark you show me Yeah, it's perfectly reckless Damn, you leave me defenseless So break in Break in Put your lighter in the air And lead me back home...
