This was just done for fun, and I wish your response would stay the same. I am fans of both bands and I am not pitting them against each other-in fact, I wish to show their best talents in this video. It's only a matter of who you like more. Any comment made below that shows inappropriate disrespect toward both of these talented artists will be considered intolerable and therefore deleted/reported. Constructive criticism are welcome but personally, I don't see what's the point of it considering both sides wouldn't be able to see it anyway and only the viewers and I will do.
I don't own any of the material above, and neither do I take credit for them: all rights go to their proper, respective owners.
More videos like these will be coming soon, and will be compiled in a playlist which I will make soon-when I feel like it.
The songs in the video were Familiar Taste Of Poison and Just Tonight, both original songs from the same bands.
I hope you like the compilation.
Suggest who my next comparison videos should be about!

I like both, for different reasons. Taylor has an AMAZING mezzo (low) voice that Lzzy doesn't have, but Lzzy can hit high notes Taylor can't. Taylor is way sexier and "dark", and has great charisma, but yes, you can see Lzzy has more experience as a frontwoman. Either way, both are good in different ways, so this video makes a useless comparison in my opinion.

Comparing Taylor to Courtney Love, other than eye makeup, maybe is insulting! Taylor has a way better voice! To me Taylor has a unique sultry blues style voice that is so rare these days! I like Halestorm, sometimes even love them, including Lizzy, but sometimes she/they sound a bit too poppy or country for my taste. I was totally into Lizzy singing this song!

It’s hard to put these two against each other. They’re both phenomenal singers for what they do. Overall I think Lzzy seems a bit better live in general (I personally prefer the studio version of familiar taste of poison as in my opinion Lzzy was over embellishing in this performance) but Taylor does amazing as well ( however she seems to really favor her lower range live so it raises the question of wether she can actually properly hit the higher notes without some aid) and there’s just something about this performance that really resonates with me. There’s also several years in between them so it might also be a question of who has more experience. But as for emotion live, based on these examples I’d have to say Taylor won this time! Sorry Lzzy, I’m a huge fan of both bands though!

R Moocher I think both bands were first marketed like mainstream pop rock bands, but their recent albums were really good! I think Going To Hell (The Pretty Reckless) and Into The Wild Life (Halestorm) were a big step up from their previous works. Check them out if you haven't! My personal favorite from Going To Hell was, of course, the title track. And then Sweet Things, Absolution, Blame Me, Burn, and Fucked Up World. There's a little criticism for Heaven Knows about it sounding like... well, you'll know when you listen to it, but I like that too nonetheless. For Into The Wild Life I really like Amen, I Like It Heavy, What Sober Couldn't Say, I Am The Fire, New Modern Love, The Reckoning, and Unapologetic. Wow, I almost said their whole albums... That says a lot.

It's a matter of vocal character, isn't it? It's impossible to define. Lizzy is technically a better singer than Taylor (better range, etc). By that same token, Michael Bolton is a better technical singer than Mark Lanegan, but I'd much rather hear Lanegan sing. Taste in music is 100% subjective, and that fact makes a VS video like this rather pointless. I personally prefer Taylor, but I won't get up on a high horse about my opinion.

As far as over all band performance The Pretty Reckless has it by a long shot because there music structure is fluent and dynamic in the instrumental parts as well the vocal, but the vocal effects is what killed it. Now a hint of effects would have been a lot better, but she flooded it. I think Halestorm's band performance wasn't bad but not good, its the music structure that killed it in this video. They seem to play the same thing over during a long period of time. In the other hand, Lizzy if badass and her voice is just awesome, she is one of my favorite vocalist, well that is alive. My absolute favorite is Dio, small little guy with an explosive voice. I think The Pretty Reckless has it in this vid.

Lizzy wins for me; i love Taylor, she gives off like sexy vulnerable badass girl feels, but Lizzy gives off so much power in her voice and lyrics and i just love that yk? She just exerts so much power and her songs make me feel so badass when jamming to them.

Exactly, I'd probably say Lzzy has a slightly stronger vocal but in terms of listening to their song I couldn't choise one over the other. Just get 'em both in 1 play list. I don't think this version of the song does Taylor's voice justise, if you listen to acoustic or normal version it's much better/

I first saw Halestorm at 100.3s Edgefest in Little Rock 10 years ago? give or take. Damn she was awesome. she also sang on stage with Seether, that Seether did with Amy Lee, Broken. wow, just wow. This "Pretty Reckless" is pretty cool. I never heard of them but this song was a great introduction. Peace and here's to a better New Year.

Went to a Halestorm concert that Lira Ford was opening. I've loved Lita since I was a young man. After Litas set, Halestorm started and she blew me away! What an incredibly powerful voice. Loved them since. I will say that I really like a lot of The Pretty Reckless songs too.

Lzzy Hale and Halestorm overall, in my opinion, are a much better band. Arejay Hale is the most aggressive drummer I have ever seen, and Lzzy plays her, "Mz. Hyde" role exceptionally well. Lzzy also has range and diversity, (doing vocals with Lindsey Stirling), in "Shatter Me". And "Love bites" is the perfectly balanced metal song, (and video), in my opinion. I agree with MsGatoblanco's comment below that sees Momsen as a "demonic barbie doll". YES, The Pretty Reckless have some catchy songs. (I have the chorus of "Kill me" on constant repeat, cuz it speaks exactly how my broken life has gone). Most of the "live" footage I've seen of "Reckless", though, hasn't been very good. This live "Reckless" song was one of the better ones I've seen them do, I must say. I listen to BOTH bands, and will continue to do so. THANKS, "Marie Del Carmen", for posting this. It has sparked an interesting discussion and dialog. "And all the lost souls say".......

Just coming across Lzzy Hale, she is the best hands down. I haven't seen her kind of awesomeness since Pink, this other singer has a cool song and cool presence, but vocally, Lzzy Hale is just phenomenal, her song is far more demanding and she just has an amazing power. I am a forever fan now. WOW!!

Should I redo the first two Halestorm VS The Pretty Reckless videos? In this one, apparently Taylor Momsen's video had something going on, and in the second video, the acoustic live battle, Lzzy Hale was sick... and it obviously reflected on her performance. I won't get rid of these ones if I do. It just means there will be two parts for each category: the two fails, and then two BRAND NEW videos (where hopefully I make the game FAIR). What do you guys think? Should I do it or not?
@mariestapes
@mariestapes 9 жыл бұрын
And I want to apologize for the two crappy videos, again. I was a new fan when I made them, and I obviously didn't know my stuff well. I intended to make the performances fair-from where they do it, to what kind they were performing-and I failed at that. (The third video doesn't seem that bad though... I think. No one's nitpicked it yet.) Last but not the least... should I use recent videos? These ones were from years back, and considering how far the artists have grown now... maybe it does seem like a good idea. I'll try.
