You'd be home now, how to make friends with the dark, or girl in pieces. All by Kathleen Glasgow, all sad/real life books, all really really good. Her writing is amazing and hooks you in. There is a tiny bit of sub-plot romance in you'd be home now, but it's definitely not the main focus of the book.

FIREKEEPER'S DAUGHTER (BOULLEY). At a glance it is a mystery/romance, but it delves so much deeper in other aspects. It deals with the complexities of being biracial, being a part of a Native American tribe, and having a blended family. It was my favorite book of last year, and it gets extra points because the audiobook is great as well!

I’m really into your reading series. I really like the recommendations. I think that you should try thriller/mystery books. I find that I’ve always liked these type of books especially those books where they have vampires, werewolves, but all of their powers are sort of hidden within a town where everything looks normal from the outside, but the people within the town knows all of their secrets. I’m trying to recall the author that I’m thinking about, but I really can’t remember. I remember being obsessed with those type of book stuff. Maybe you’ll like it.
