this song helped my best friend understand some of his trauma, so he sent it to me. It changed my perspective on trauma and mental illness. He's gone now. half.alive are so damn underrated. I hope to see them gain more traction. There are so many different elements to their music, thematically and stylistically, that are skillfully blended. Their lyrics are poetic and inspiring, touching on the human condition brilliantly. It's also refreshing to hear some elements of pop fused with older styles of music, bringing new life into the redundant and rehashed pop sounds we're usually bombarded with, which makes their music more accessible to the masses while offering something a little different than they're used to. It's a shame so many people still consume so much dead mainstream garbage while music with so much soul like this often goes overlooked.

I listen to this song every so often and it's like a little therapy session every time. One time, I had an assignment for my religion class for which we had to choose a song and analyse the lyrics in regards of our own lives. I chose this one and writing the essay gave me so much clarity about myself. I really reflected my problems and feelings and every time I hear this song I have to think about this assignment. This song has a very special place in my heart.
