Hey, I just thought I would insert my experiences regarding going to the police and sexual misconduct- It is actually extremely hard to get someone in legal trouble for sexual crimes if enough time has past. I went to the police with digital resources, but obviously none that is physical since I waited too long. I had the number, evidence of blocked calls, conversations with people etc, but the officer I spoke to was blunt and said it was not enough evidence for an investigation. I could've taken it to small claims perhaps, but the cops wouldn't have played any part in it. Even if you research it, I believe less than 1% of sexual crime accusations result in a felony charge. It is extreeeeemely hard to prove if you don't have the DNA evidence from a rape kit, some photo evidence, etc. I can understand from the accuser's point of view why they would want to speak out. If they don't speak out, they are judged for allowing the creator to continue abusing others without saying anything, and now I think it's a little disappointing that others are being judged FOR saying something. Obviously, this has nothing to do with the melodrama and the shitty screenshots from discord type of accusations. That's just my take

Here in my country we have a "metoo" situation where bunch of actresses reported accusations. One supposedly got taken advantaged by her drama teacher at actor school. Second by her colleague while filming a movie, she even got her story to "New York Times" somehow. Anyway, involving media is a shitshow. You are at the center of attention, and while that is good to tell a story, narrative is pretty bad. Someone would believe, other dont and they would say you did it for favors and now you just want glory(in first case she is even suppose to get her own TV show she would write) and whole narrative would go out of window fast. I still like how Jessi Smiles did it. Go to police, cooperate with them and get him to confess over phone and dont involve media. You could argue that you do way more damage at least financially by involving media, social or just general. But its also way more rough for both sides, not just accused.

As someone who was groomed and sexually abused as a kid it fucking sucks to understand later in life what happened to you and why it made you feel like shit. It sucks even more that I can’t do anything about it (going the law rout) because the evidence is long gone. But here is where I disagree with Nick. I think it’s perfectly fine for you to go out and tell people about what happened, this includes Twitter. If you’re going to out someone and don’t have evidence just don’t use their name. Give as much detail as you can but leave it vague enough as to not directly identify the person. That way you can warn others to look out for a particular kind of person as well as open the opportunity for recent victims who have better evidence to come forward.
