2007. We were easing off 9/11 and worry about terror attacks, We had the internet, but didn’t take over our lives and polarized us like today. Great times!

I was 16 in 2007. The world has changed so much since then. It was the peak year of a golden age. Right before the 2008 financial crash that the world is still reeling from. 9-11-2001 was when the old world ended, but there was still so much prosperity in the US at least. between 2001-2007 was like the peak of the US empire for the average citizen. Cracks were starting to show and 2008 was when it ended. 2008-2016 was a gradual decline and 2016 - present is when shit really hit the fan with Covid. The world you live in is a shadow of its former self. The world before everyone had super fast tiny pocket computers with internet access on them at all times was a different place. you can feel the difference in the air almost. Like we are living in a new chapter. Bad forces in positions of power are trying harder than ever to errode your freedom and rights while making the gap between the rich and poor larger. The "middle class" is disapearing. Our warlords are beating their wardrums as loud as ever as we slowly wander into conflict after conflict and turn our old allies into bitter business interests. I hope times get better soon. It makes me sad to know so many kids will never even get to see the world as it used to be. @@M._mkid

Maybe this is just me but one of the things I’m taking away from this is the 2000s to now the 2020s we really haven’t had that big of change in the way that 90s 80s 70s commercial have significant changes in the way that they looked

I agree I was saying this to my family the other day .that from 2000 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2020 there's like no real big "progression" if you will in entertainment . Seems the same as it was 10 years ago . Yet 1990 to 2000 or 80's to 90's we made huge leaps and bounds. Once we hit 2000 its as if we stopped or became stagnant. I really miss being a child in the 90's .you don't know what you got ..til its gone :-/ Edit: might I add not just entertainment but in every social aspect ..technology..music... cars .. hell everything came to a stand still . The future really sucks ...

Same here. Back in 2007 I was a freshman in college and I remember watching a 1993 commercial compilation and I remember thinking that everything seemed so retro and far away in time. Now I watch this video that has commercials from 14 years ago (the same time gap from the compilation I watched 14 years ago) and it doesn’t feel all that old. I think the key differences between the first time jump are the advancement of the internet, cell phone technology, and CGI in everything. Nowadays the CGI in commercials is just as common place as it was in 2007, plus back in 2007 NBC was pushing out the same crappy drama and reality shows as it does now 😂
@rdavisct1986
@rdavisct1986 3 жыл бұрын
@Hydroflask56 maybe I worded it wrong by saying came to a stand still . It did progress yes my focus was that imo it didn't progress in the same leaps and bounds as the previous 10 years .like the huge difference between 40s to 50s,60s, 70s,80s, and 90s to 2000. Idk if I have the vocabulary to precisely explain my meaning. I just felt from 2000 to 2010 there wasn't the same giant change in what we wore like all previous 10 year gaps, and also music follows the same suit as well as technology minus like I mentioned smartphones. Shows im not saying didn't change in getting older the actors I mean the content . Helk its been reality tv since 2000 .its all reality television.and movies ? Its as if we have given up on creativity. Too many reboots and prequels lol its terrible. My statement doesn't 100% apply to all but the majority .there's still some good progression just noticing the difference. It's not as vast as previous generations is all
@rdavisct1986
@rdavisct1986 3 жыл бұрын
@Hydroflask56 i hear you. And yeah those were changes. My whole point was how drastic things kept changing and progressing every 10 years seems like leaps and bounds .drastic progression but I just don't see the same if taking a look at 2000 to 2010 and then. 2010 to 2020. Idk maybe it has to do with age but for example you see shows doing top or best of the 70''.80's 90s because how drastically different they were . The 20 and 2010 or 2020 just not that defined to me .maybe its just thay I'm old now
