It was precisely the No Brand Con footage where HITB, and Red Letter Media as a whole made me a die-hard fan. The deadpan humor and lack of enthusiasm just had me dying. I like everyone loved the Plinkett reviews, and watched the first few episodes of HITB out of curiosity, but it was here where they really got into their groove that they've kept up ever since.

I dunno man. It's not very good, nor is it so bad it's good. I don't get the hype over the franchise. Matthew Lillard's performance is SO FUCKING TERRIBLE and cringe as fuck, that it ruins the shit out of that movie anyway. I prefer the Scary Movie version of Scream to be honest. Lillard should have never been encouraged to become an actor. Dude flat out fucking sucks in everything he's ever appeared in. Yeah, SLC Punk as well (shit movie).

What pains me the most is that while I was alive and old enough and with spare income to go to those things but I've been an idiot and still believed in the "find a job, do your job, get financial security, then go and have fun" mindset. Of course then I realized that there's no such thing as financial security for my generation and that every hobby is monetized to the limits of our stomachs...

I'm visiting Eau Claire at the moment and found that sadly the 70s glory of the Plaza is no more, replaced by a fancy office building for some healthcare firm.

What you see as a washed up has-been, may to others appear legendary. Maybe it's an actor who played the role of their favorite character in a movie they first saw decades ago as a child. The smallest things can sometimes leave a lasting impression that sticks with a person for the rest of their life. The opportunity to meet that individual who inspired them years ago can be a moving experience in itself. I dunno. I don't think it's my place to question others' source of inspiration. Even if it seems weird or obscure to us, people have their reasons.

Mike is one of the funniest people on Earth in my opinion, and as far as his funniest moments go, there is A LOT of competition, but the beginning of the No Brand Con segment, with him suddenly laying unconscious, repeatedly, is some of his best shit, despite how simple it is. I'd love to get drunk with Mike and Jay, while Rich watches us drink.

Personally I love Scream and I think Sre4m is the only sequel worth watching. I think everything is intentional and I love it. Some super silly stuff but it was still great. Nothing can beat that first movie though. So good.
