I just started playing HL2 when it was put on steam for free. The game is exceptional, a masterpiece. Looks surprisingly good in 4k, lighting is great for 2004, displays at 120hz while only consuming 90w. They don't make em like this no mo'.

@SupraSav after not playing it for so long it surprised me how well it holds up even by today's standards, appreciate the feedback.

There's a free DLC on the way for it to revamp lighting/graphics. RTX Remix.

I played Hl2 for the first time last year, just after playing HL1 for the first time during the 25th anniversery. In some, weird, ways I felt HL1 held up a little better lol. Graphics aside. Half life 2 mostly still holds up too. I have no nostalgia for this game since I played it 19 years post launch. With the exception of some of the hover boat areas I feel the game holds up.

welcome to the fan base. I was in my 20s when HL1 came out and I had a blast with it. Did all the waiting for each and every release but each game didn't disappoint. Best part is, where games from developers like Ubisoft don't work on modern computers, all the Half Life games still do which is a testament to Valve and its developers. Alyx completely blew me away too, so I am looking forward to encores, God willing.
